I posted this last night, but thought I'd put it on it's own thread where more people would know what is going on:
Well I know I'm supposed to come on here with joyous news, but am so worn out and in a state of tears right now. The oncologist viewed my CT Scans and there is a tumor that is on my heart that is roughly the entire size of the aorta. If I looked whipped out when I get to state later today it's because of the lack of sleep and rough night I've had from all of this developing news regarding my health.

dwelsh,
I can't let it slow me down, I have a visit at Butler Community College today to speak with some students and faculty. Then next week more tests, Wednesday I'm on PBS for a Survivor Panel, then Thursday try to make Tyler's clinic.

What is that about? Is this something that I can watch on my TV?
I was watching "Beyond the Glory" last night. The person profiled was Coach K of Duke B.Ball. He HAD to take a year off due to illness - he came back STRONG and they won another championship. Now, maybe i'm making an 'apples to oranges' comparsion here - but please get the rest you need.
The above mentioned episode is on again today on CH 34 (JC cable) at 1pm. I know because i plan on taping it this time. It was good and inspirational. Other show dates/times are:
2/26 4am, 2/26 7am
Yeah, i know its the dreaded basketball . . . but Coach K is an incredible story about a coach that loves and motivates his atheletes. It is also a good story about a man having to check/re-evaluate his priorities (hint: the Lakers came and offered him BIG BUCKS, him having to take a year off, etc...) He talks about his friendship with the late coach Valvano... Good stuff.

Aaron-
It was nice to finally meet you and get to see a true life inspiration to all of us. I thought that me getting beat out of the state tournament was the worst thing until you told me your story, Good Luck Aaron and I will keep you in my prayers, you are an inspiration to me as well as the rest of the wrestling community, Good Luck

Swayz: I had looked forward to meeting you for a long time, and when I did it was like I had known you for just ever! What a cool guy. We had talked about the clinic in Buhler on Thursday night, I think that Denis would be willing to wrestle someone down there as an exhibition, maybe we could get Andrew Gosset to come out and he could beat on Denis for awhile. lots of cool things coming this next summer and next season, I will keep you posted on events at the Mike Fairleigh boyhood home, and hopefully see you on Thursday night. When is that deal, and Where? I haven't heard any more about it but would sure be willing to pitch in if you are going to be there. And keep me posted on what the docs decide, I am praying hard for ya, buddy. Mike

Guys,
Thanks for all of the support I'm going to do my best to be there on Thursday night. I heard that if you have someone wanting to wrestle in an exhibition match to try to be there at around 5:45pm (if possible) We want to try to get some of the matches done first and to be done with the clinic by 8 or 8:30, because kids will come up to you and ask for your autograph. Mike Furches can post more updates as he knows more.
