Does anyone know how to get a hold of Terry Pack?
Seems he decided to cancel wrestling camp and I am having trouble getting my deposit back from him. Anyone else having this problem?

have you tried to call the S.I.D. at Neosho? If they don't have one contact the Athletic Director or something...that's the best thing I can tell you.

Thanks for the advice. The Athletic Director was able to give me an address and phone number. Hopefully I can get this matter cleared up.

I am starting to get that sinking feeling that I will never see that deposit money again. That is a sad day for kids wrestling when coaches decided to pocket money instead of returning it. Also, I have gotten little to no support from the college who's name is plastered all over the camp flyer.
I am greatly disappointed!

This is the reason why Labette Community College will always be the mainstay in community college wrestling in Kansas. They dont go to other countries and recruit, being a cardinal means something to the coaching staff and any member of a past or present team. Trust me, if Joe Renfro ever tried to pull this stunt, there would be 1000 cardinals looking for him. Just another difference in a class organization. Good luck to coach Wiles, he has alot of work ahead of him fixing Pack's screwups. He is a good man and I believe that he will have that program going in the right direction. Why wrestlers that are in the public eye do stuff like this is beyond me. It gives us all a bad image. The next time you see TERRY, tell him to get his stuff straight, fix the problems he left at NCCC and learn from his mistakes, before an ole bird takes him out behind the wood shed.

The following is copied from the Legends of Gold Wrestling Camp flyer:

Camp Sponsors
Neosho County Community College Wrestling
USA Kansas Wrestling

Camp Cost: The 5 day camp cost is $225. Pre-registration and a $75 non-refundable deposit is required. The remaining amount is to be paid by check, cash, or money order at camp check-in. All checks must be payable to Legends of Gold Wrestling.

Camp Directors: Terry Pack; (620)431-2820 ext. 210
Richard Fergola; (620)432-5278

Please make checks payable to: Legends of Gold Wrestling
Mail completed form and non-refundable $75 deposit to Legends of Gold Wrestling
425 W. 5th….Chanute, KS. 66720
For more information contact Terry Pack or Richard Fergola

The address listed to mail the non-refundable deposit was formerly Terry Pack’s home address.

Please note the flyer clearly states the deposit is non-refundable in two locations on the flyer.

If you followed the directions on the flyer and mailed the deposit to the address on the flyer, the monies were mailed directly to Mr. Pack at his home address.

Were I in your position, I would contact the camp sponsors, in writing, regarding refund of the deposit(s), and they in turn may be able to contact Mr. Pack regarding restitution.

Perhaps USAW Kansas required some form of surety bond to insure against loss in the event a person absconded with the funds, prior to agreeing to sponsor the event!

If I may be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Good luck!

I have contacted all of the people mentioned in the camp flyer (with the exception of USA wrestling) most of them via email. Some in the form of a formal mailed written request. Most have been contacted multiple times. I realize that the flyer said the deposit was nonrefundable, however, I guess I assumed that meant should we choose not to attend. Not should Mr. Pack decide to cancel camp. Especially since Mr. Pack called my home to personally cancel camp and assure me that the deposit would be returned. He sang a song and dance about Neosho County jacking the rates on him. Had I known I was making a donation....I can think of more deserving charities.

I will try your suggestion about contacting USA Wrestling. Thanks, hadn't thought of that one.

This is Terry Pack. I believe you can talk to Mike Juby about some of the stunts they pulled at Neosho with the prices. I fought very hard before I left to fix the things they did to USA wrestling after all of their support to the college. I believe we called each person as JMR stated. I sent the infomration in to get those people reinbursed for those costs. If you did not recieve it please call my office at 530-283-9713 and I will help you. As to the person who talked about the mess left I am sorry you feel that way. My time thier was wonderful with the people I met and worked with in Kansas wrestling. To this date I have always out recurited Labette and most of the people sending those kids to me were previous Labette Wrestlers. I love Joey and Jodi and continue to be great friends with them all. I left to start another new program and to take a great admin job to go with it. Paul Thein who started the program at Neosho is at it again in Calf. and called me for the job. Neosho went on accredation probation and dropped hte women's program which I personally started and felt was great for the sport. The new president cut mu budget and was not supportive of what USA wrestling did for the college with it's support for the past few years. As for the person that woulod like to take me behind the wood shed understand how foolish you look by saying and acting that way. I will be in Kansas again next month working out with Cody and have continued relationships with Merrick and the other assisants at Neosho. The only mess that left was due to ignorance of the sport and most likely fits very nicely with the wood shed man. Thanks to all of you and I will see most of you soon.

Thank you for taking care of this matter. I did not intend to start this discussion as a way to publicly bash Terry or NCCC. I was looking for information that would lead to return of my child's deposit money. I am not well connected in the wrestling world and did not know where to turn for information. I apologize to Terry for any comments that I made that could be interpreted as bashing. That was not my intention. Thank you also to those of you who did try to be helpful. My son is not lucky enough to have a father who wrestled or is even involved in his wrestling. He and I jumped into wrestling when he was seven and are learning as we go! He obviously thought enough of both Terry and NCCC to want to attend their camp. Now that the situation seems to be going to resolve itself...I hope the negative comments stop.
