Grand State was a grand idea and a grand event but it will never happen again. It is a completely dead issue in the state of Kansas.

olathewrestlingmom- you can't say venegas would be 275 if he was healthy. he never wrestled mock in high school, so the world will never know. they can just speculate.

I think you have to give the this year's all-state award to one of this yeear's state champs and Luedke beat Drennon earlier this year, beat the 6A champ (Smith from Dodge), and finished first in a tourney where the 5A Champ (Jonas) got sixth. I realize he lost a 3-1 match to Johnson early in the year and if Johnson had won state this year I would give it to him, but I think you have to go with Luedke this year.

I meant he lost to Johnson earlier in the year, not early in the year. Anyway you get my point. It seems to me the all-state 145 pounder is Luedke.

Kyle Flory is a good wrestler, but really you have to go with Payne. He's relentless. As it has been stated before, everyone has their days. They both really turned it on at the end of the year and wrestled well. No offense, but I don't think the Frontier Leauge meet is "where it counts." Where it counts is regionals and State. Unfortunately going to two different size schools means there was not a re-match, but they did split on the year. I have to think that if there were a round three Payne would win convincingly. Great year by both, though.

I say 145 is a three-way tie between Johnson, Drennan, and Luedke. Let's just leave it at that. Each of them has beat one of the other three and lost to one of the other three.

I say 145 is a three-way tie between Johnson, Drennan, and Luedke. Let's just leave it at that. Each of them has beat one of the other three and lost to one of the other three and I believe all of the victories were by 2 points, so there really is no criteria to say any one of them is better than the other two.

Jordan Bedore is a definite at 215. Whoever it was that put Horinek at 215 and Honas at HWT, needs to get off the drugs. They would get smoked by the guys above them. My vote goes to Drennan also.

I think Bedore is a real good wrestler I really do, but man that Hemmerling was impressive. That might be a good match for the east west deal I hope. Is Bedore a senior??

Hemmerling and Bedore faced each other at Newton this year didn't they? Didn't Hemmerling win?

Bedore and Hemmerling wrestled at the Newton Classic, with Hemmerling winning a close match, don't remember the score though.

The score was 5-4, with Banana-Fingers McDragonslayer beating BeWindow by turning him with a mean half in the third.
It was the sweetest match I saw all year. (It gets the nod over the Luedke/Drennan match I witnessed at Beloit because I love watching fatties go at it.)
Hemmerling is the best, followed by BeWindow, followed by Matt Cox.
