Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School 4a Team Rankings

I think the team raknking are a litlle messed up so I am going to make my own. Feel free to argue my picks. Here is just what I thougth. My picks are just off of who they got ranked and where they are ranked at.

Thoses are my picks.

I agree based upon where the kids are ranked, Columbus would be deserving of the #1 ranking. I Personally I don't know how anyone could possibly do comprehensive rankings before the kids have even weighed in for practice, but I know every one is anxious. I think these rankings stand to change a lot by the first week.

Exactly fanatic, one of the most difficult things that coaches can do is rank the top ten teams, especially in 4A, where there are so many balanced teams, and no one has wrestled yet. As state champions, Clay Center is number one, until somebody proves otherwise. As discussed a long time ago in the 4A preview, this should be a close battle to the end between several teams. And there are several teams not currently ranked that will be as the season progresses.

Surely by now everyone should know that the team rankings are generally based on returning state placers and how many points they scored the previous year. So that doesn't mean a whole lot at this point in the season, so why gripe about it? People may get hurt during the season, certain wrestlers didn't do anything during the off-season, whatever. Focus should be on how well you wrestle right now, don't worry about the rankings becuase they don't mean anything, and any good wrestler can tell you that.
