This is my third year for the big weight loss thing. The only real way to go is to workout for around 30 min to an hour in the morning to get your metabolism up. Then I personally go to the ymca everynight after practice and run, swim, and lift weights. Drink lots of water and then cut it out a day before weigh in or so if your close. Thats about the best i can do for ya

That sounds like an ever better way to cut weight. I'm gonna have to say that sounds better than the chainsaw idea.

On a serious note, don't dehydrate yourself...make sure you get something in your system the night before a meet. Very important because you'll need, esp. during a long Saturday Tournment

ENJOY!!!

i always found that starving for days and dehydrating were fanciful ways to cut weight. Just absolutely delightful.

I found just eating half of what you would usually eat does the trick. It keeps your metabolism up and doesn't completely wear you out. Eat fruits and meats because they aren't bad for you when cuttin weight. I am pretty sure thats what college wrestlers eat when they cut weight. Cut out on pop and snack foods that will make you drop quite abit. I have already dropped 13 pounds this year by doing most of that.

this are all pretty good tips. i've been wrestling for a few years now, including cutting weight for 12 years to do so.

rules and tips are very simple.. pretty much everything that someone tells you will work. but the key is just sticking to it. and keep in mind, that everyones different, and their bodies don't handle things the same way. for instance, wrestling for so long has made my weight fluxuate alot. i can go through the same work out as friends, lose twice as much.

anyway, here's a few thinks that i'm come up with.

dont' eat when you're not hungry.. seems obvious, but it happens.. no snacks...
when hungry, before eating.. drink something first. alot of the time you're more thirsty than hungry and that will do the trick, and fluids are always good anyway.
work out often, keeps your metabolism up.
cut your general meals down, but dont' starve, that's no good. but reduce them.. and stick with it.. for instance.. eat a sandwhich and an apple for lunch, instead of school lunch..
find out the minimum amout of calories you need and try to stick to that.
buuuut if you get to the point where you've cut your food back so much that you don't have enough energy, then eat something with high calories.. such as.. peanut butter ..

anyway, that's my two cents..

i always like to hear what other people try to keep their weight under control..

ok kid, here is the trick if u want to do it healthy (personally i wasnt much for the healthy way of cutting anyways).

monday-wednesday u need to eat more often than not. Have small handful meals. Maybe half a sandich(wheat and turkey and nothing else) and half an apple, banana or granola bar. Have about 6-8 of these "meals". Eat them in 2-3 hr intervals. U will speed up ur metabolism and lose weight and still be decently full. Also try to eat low sodium. At these meals and throughout the day drink lots of water. Drinking a lot of water from mon-wed will trick ur body into thinking its going to have lots of fluids on thurs and friday. So come thurs and friday u will need to cut back on water, but ur body will still be pissing and sweating a lot. Thus u will be purging water weight easily from ur body. U will need to cut it back on the food because just teh sheer weight of eating 6-8 meals might be too much to make ur weight. Thurs and fridays u will need to cut it to 1-2 tiny meals. then just run and work ur *** off in practice and u should be good.

Have a bowl of cheerios for breakfast. Don't eat anything with a lot of sodium and drink an 8 oz glass of grapefruit juice before you go to bed each night.

putting a shot of lemon in your water u do drink was a helpful hint as well as B9 vitamin, vitamins are big to help u keep your nutrition your body misses from the food loss, but the B9 helps with urinatation, it quickens the process naturally without dehydrating liek water pills. work out like a mad man, but dont run to much it pounds your joints , wrestle the weight off or jope a **** ton of rope. get a good diet, but dont try to hold the weight down all the time cause it will make u weak if your really cutting and i only call it really cuttin if its 15lbs or more. juicing vegitables as meal replacements gives u all the nutrients but lil weight. theres some helpful hints from a weight loss jedi. trust me ive cut weight my whole life this stuff works. coach T.MAC

I pretty much go with rocknraider's idea of how to cut weight except I don't eat so much bread. I eat straight chicken or tuna. Peas on the side. My classmates hate me for it. They said tuna and peas smells bad!

Everyone's always talking about their low-fat diet or their low-carb diet. When will people realize that what they really need is a low-food diet?

Congrats, Aquinas!
Great job, Hat Town!
