Abiline has been an awesome wrestling team for some years now. Who's the best wrestler (other than Nigel) to come out of Abiline. By the way Nigel is that a Antartican name?

I can tell you who the best are,
Shane Palmer (have to go way back) Nate Smith Christian Alt Seth Lytle Dustin Tovar
These guys are all multiple time state placers, a few Champions in there as well.

Best wrestler out of Abilene (to have graduated), I'd say there were a few, but I would have to give my nod as coming from the rival town of Chapman to Dustin Tovar, he was a 3 time finalist and is now starting at one of the best division 2 schools in the nation at UNO.

The best in history probably should be the ones that have won the most high school varsity matches. Dustin Tovar 131 Christian Alt 130 Jason Zey 110 Seth Lytle 103 that would be counting high school nationals matches won. Jake Kriegbaum has won about 118 and counting Luke Geske should hit 100 Ross Taplin should hit 100 as a junior.

I know about Mike Gil but he is pretty old compared to these guys and I have no way of comparing them. I said Shane for two reasons 1 he was National Champ, 2 he can still beat anyone in Abilene with 1 hand. Although hes had some tought times with Nate Lawrenz (ha ha)

I don't want to get in the middle of this one. Just wanted to point out that it wasn't all that long ago that 100 wins was very rare. In the mid-80's, most good wrestlers were lucky to get 25-28 wins in a year if they went undefeated. Since that time, the state has allowed schools to compete in more matches during the year (which is good in order to keep up with surrounding states). Not taking anything away from the wrestlers listed earlier with 100+ wins. And I know nothing about Abilene's history other than the last few years. But I would guess there were some good ones in the 70's & 80's who didn't achieve the 100-win milestone.
