Colby had three state finalists last year and they are all back - Danny Mainus, Eric Luedke and Schuyler Sharpe.
Mainus was a state qualifier as a freshman, placed 6th as a sophomore and was last year's 112 pound state champ. He will likely be be considered a favorite to win a state title again next year.
Eric Luedke placed 3rd as a freshman and second as both a sophomore and junior. He too will likely be predicted to be in the championship mix.
Both of these have the skills to roll through a bracket and, if they become a little more consistent, they could have an "unstopable" season.
Sharpe will be a junior next season after qualifying for state as a freshman and placing second last season to Norton's Eric Johnson. He wrestled Johnson as well as anyone last season and appears poised to put together a great run next season.
If Norton remains in 4A, Eric Johnson's name should undoubtedly be on this list - lost by 1 point to Hoxie's Derek Jones in the 3-2-1A finals his freshman year, won a state title at 3-2-1A as a sophomore and a 4A state title as a junior.
All four of these individuals should have outstanding seasons next winter. Mainus, Luedke and Johnson are already near the top of their games and, if Sharpe continues to develop, he too could be in the mix next season.
