Drennen beats Pyle soundly. I guess Fanatic was wrong! It was a great match with Drennen pouring it on in the third period.

I Think 11-7. Drennan Cut him loose with 3 seconds left. Drennan dominated after the first period.

I thought Drennan had 13 points...but whatever, the fact is Drennan proved his point didn't he! I know this kid and he didn't drop into Pyle's weight to lose to him again,he is scared of no one.He wrestled all year for that rematch...fanatic said it wouldn't be much of a match and Pyle was in a class all on his own....Drennan must now be in a class all of his own?!

Drennan did beat Pyle. Drennan caught Pyle for a nearfall on one td which was the big difference in the match. I was shocked having watched Pyle for three years. I always knew Drennan was special. I just didn't think he was as special. I knew in order to beat Pyle he would have to be beaten on tds which I didn't think would be easy to do but drennan did.

You heard wrong, after Plye's big first period was over you could see that Drennen was taking over the match. By the third period there was no dout he was on a mission. I don't think that Drennen just "caught" Pyle for near fall points and if he did it's funny that he "catches" many good wrestlers for near fall points, just like he did in the finals.

The match was in danger of being a blowout early as Pyle caught Drennan for five early. If I recall correctly it then went to 8-3 in favor of Pyle. I'm certain Pyle was ahead 8-6 when Drennan pick-up a reveral and back points, which gave Drennan the win.
If you take out the early five points Pyle scored in the 1st, then it can easily be stated that Drennan out wrestled Pyle - but it certainly was not a blowout in Drennan's favor.
It was certainly a great match to watch.

Pyle got 5 points in the first on the headlock. He scored 2 other points throught the rest of the match not counting the final point that Drennen gave him at the very end of the match. Not a blowout by any stretch, but a convincing win. Drennen scored 11 points to 2 points after being thrown. In other words he dominated the scoring after the first period. It was a great match.

I didn't see the first round because of another match but what I saw it was an excellent match. They are two very fine wrestlers.
