One of the biggest NCKL duals will take place Thursday night in Abilene. Any predictions on the outcome. Last year it came down to tie breakers

Not sure how they match up as I haven't really seen Clay Center this year. I know that it will probably be similar in Light weights and Upper Weights will be two different teams out there for each. I can see some bonus points out there in many weights. If Palmer is there for Abilene and not in Canyon City this year, then I think Abilene picks up some points there. I think pins will win in this dual, and there will be around half of the matches ending with 6 team points.

I do not think it will be nearly as close as last year. I think clay center wins big.

How many open weights are there "supposed" to be.

OK wrestling: 14 pts big enough?

The challenge matches were yesterday and the following should be the Varsity squad for Clay Center

103-Nick McGee
112-Gage Huffman
119-Nathan Gile
125-Chris Bowser
130-Kyler Wallace
135-Blake Willman
140-Jordan Kolterman
145-Ben Davis
152-Kyle Allen
160-Brenden Lund
171-Jameon Rush ( challenged Nick Gunter and won in double OT)
189-Josh Marrs
215-Matthew James
275-Michael Patenaude

Interested in seeing an Abilene lineup

Abilene's lineup should look something like this:
103 Luke Cole
112 Matt Rein
119 Nick Peterson
125 Tanner Dawson
130 Ryan Wuthnow
135 Nathan Wuthnow
140 Ryan Jared
145 Dylon Jenne
152 Chris Wilson
160 Marvio Tischauser
171 Cody Linn
189 Troy Padgett
215 Jake Tech
275 Jay Knauss

I have it about split down the middle, should be real interesting again this year although it will be hard to top the "Palmer situation" of last year.

Here is how I think the dual will go
103 Nick McGee over Luke Cole 3pt dec
112 Matt Rein A over Gage Huffman cc 5pt tech
119 Nick Peterson A over Nathan Gile cc 3pt
125 Tanner Dawson A over Chris Bowser 6pt pin
130 tossup
135 Blake Willmann cc over Nathan Wuthnow 3pt dec
140 Jordan Kolterman cc over Ryan Jared 3pt
145 Dylan Jenne over Ben Davis cc 3pt
152 Kyle Allen over Chris Willson 4 pt major
160 Brenden Lund over Marvio Tishauser 3pt dec
171 Jameon Rush over Cody Linn 6pt pin
189 Josh Marrs over Troy Padgett 6pt pin
215 Jake Tech over Mathew James 3pt
275 Michael Patenaude over Jay Knauss 6 pt pin

Not counting the tossup I see Clay Center winning 31 to 25. However there are some matches that I haven't put as pins that could be. As for the "Palmer issue" Clay Center was simply following rules and not recruiting anybody.

LOL! Talk about words to make Abilene come out fighting. This is a bad blood dual for sure and I'm sure Abilene remembers what happend last year. I remember Abilene had a good HWT that got hurt and then voila...Palmer shows up on the team. Lot of controversy ensued and now we have a really heated rivalry. Do any other years of Clay Center v. Abilene match up to the craziness of last year's dual?

In 2003, it came down to the big boys and Bruce Affolter ended with a pin for clay center to win the dual 36-33. First time clay center had beaten abilene in awhile.

Abilene lead 28-9 or something like that after 145

Abilene trailed 30-28 after 215

Abilene sends Tech (215lb) at HWT and Clay sends out???

Abilene WBF with 6 seconds left in the 1st

Abilene wins dual 34-30
