High fives all around to the Mown of Tanhattan for the great showing this weekend. 14 state qualifiers and 220+ points at a very tough regional are both great accomplishments. From my best recollection, here are the placers (please excuse any inaccuracies, especially with the consolation placings. I don't have a bracket in front of me).
103-David "What happened to my schnoz?" Thornton-4th
112-Jeb "I hate when people false start and it isn't called" Woodford-2nd
119-Aaron Bingham-2nd (finals match was the tastiest match I've seen in a while--good job Emporia kid)
125-Kyle "Holy crap, Mancouso is good" Potter-2nd
130- Nathan "I didn't get the Jimi Hendrix rendition of the Star Spangled Banner" Retta-3rd
135-Brett Hoshaw-2nd (jv most of the year, filling in for the injured Brian Shilling, a most mahowny performance)
140-Mike Miller--1st (boo-ya)
145-Kris "Sunfish" Fitzgerald-3rd
152-Shey Thornton-4th or 3rd (sorry Shey, I couldn't remember) did a magnificient job of filling in for the injured Justin Johnson
160-Ryan Johnson-1st (got salty)
171-Wyler Tarner-3rd (also a tasty matchup in the consolation finals)
189-Lee "I'm chubby and unorthodox but still pretty dang good" Larson-3rd
215-Jhris "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" Cennings-1st
275-A.D. "I have an awfully small posterior for weighing 276.9" Mayes--1st
Great job, guys. Don't be satisfied with being a state qualifier. Get 'er done next weekend.

Hey, how'd the Jhris vs. Knipp match-up go? Was it close or did Jhris dominate like the score would suggest? A recap of the match would be awesome!
You better watch out, someone's catching up to you.

I took him down in the first and turned him in a cradle for a 2 count at the very end. Then, being the crappy wrestler that I am, I layed around for the whole 2nd period. In the 3rd he chose down and got a reversal on me. He then got called for a full nelson, and then I got an escape. With about 45 seconds left I got another takedown and then I rode him out for the rest of the period.
So this kid is putting on his shoes right, and his mom says, honey you're putting your shoes on the wrong feet, and the little kid says, no mom these are my feet

I gotta hand it to Knipp, I haven't been ridden for more than two seconds since Christmas and he rode me for two minutes also. He really knows how to use his muscle on top.
I broke my toe at state... but I still got a better medal than Lancerm.

Do I wrestle? Are you serious? Is this a joke? Or are you calling me lazy on bottom?

I've heard of Chris Jennings wrestling, but i didnt know that you wrestled Jhris.
Maybe you're not an ugly human, but a good looking ape.....with exceptional verbal skills.

It is time for Manhattan to finally bring home the elusive State Championship.
Make your luck, and good things will happen.
Stay focused!
