Dugan has improved tremendously since last year. He killed wrestlers this year that would have been a close match last year. It will be interesting to see but I don't see another 140lb wrestler beating Dugan this year.

I have been reviewing this sight for some time now, and have noticed one consistency. There are quite a few arguments over the most competitive division; 1A, 2A, 3A....

After winning our second Oklahoma State title my junior year the team decided to look for competition elsewhere. I wrestled at several Kansas tournaments including the Newton invitational. I am sad to say that any Kansas division could not compete anywhere in Oklahoma.

I would guess you were from Blackwell. With the competition so light how come you didn't win the Newton Invitational???

I'm sick of all these people from Basehor-Linwood talking about how great Matt Dukes is. He had a very good year, and won state, and then proved how great he was when he got stuck by the kid form Mizzou in the Metro. Yes, he's good, but I wish everyone would shut up about it. I've even seen people put Matt Dukes under the post of Best Wrestler in the state. Give me a break!

That's so unfair! Dukes didn't even have on his lucky socks when he got pinned, which is why he was so angry and threw a fit. Get you facts straight if you're going come in here and say something like that!

nhsgrad215 , grow up, I know Dukes's loss wasn't because he didn't have his lucky socks on, but you need to give hime credit because he is a good wrestler, and to who ever posted the earlier responce about getting tired of hearing Dukes's name mentioned in here then get out and quite reading this stuff, its a forum people put what they want so live with it, what about all the other people that are mentioned more than 1 like Dyer, Stirling, Hemmerling.ect. I personally enjor reading most of the things posted just to read others input.......

I don't see how you can say there not on the same levelwhen they don't wrestle the same kids and have never wrestled each other before,I am not saying they are or aren't on the same level, but you can't sit and say that when they have never wrestled each other.

Wrestler4Life, first of all, ssss did just sit there and say that about Dukes. Its not that hard to sit at a computer and type in "Dukes is ok but hes not on the same level with crissman or vogel," see, I just did it right there. Try it, I think you'll find that it isn't as hard as you think. The reason that everyone keeps dogging on Dukes in these Forums and not others like Dyer, Hemmerling, and Stirling is because there are more than two people throwing theie names out as great wrestlers. I can only remember a couple of names, your's included claiming that Dukes is the end all-be all of wrestling, the epitome of the sport, the one and only as far as the wrestling world should be concerned. I am not trying to say that Dukes is a horrible wrestler though, don't get me wrong. He accomplished something that very few people do and that says a lot about him, but I think that before everyone in the known world needs to know the name Matt Dukes, he needs to prove himself with a little more than one state championship and a great season. Talk to us in a couple years when he is a college All-American or at least a successful collegiate career.

Well to be fair and not to put them down or anything like that. But those people from Bashor-Linwood haven't exactly seen a lot of "great wrestlers" come through their program so when they have a one time state champion, they have to think that he is the greatest. Dukes is a good wrestlers, but the state's best he is not.

Okay I think I am being misunderstood here altiile, I wasn't jumping all over him for saying that I was simply just asking a question not in a sarcastic way i was simply just asking, sorry for the misunderstanding but I wasn't jumping on anyone, I know Dukes isn't the best ever, iwas just giving my input and asking a simple question.

I just thought that i'd throw my two cents in here....From what I've noticed about Matt Dukes is that he always seems to wrestle to the level of his opponent. Also, I know this doesn't mean much but I thought I'd just let you guys know that at the Garden City Invite Dukes dominated Justin Smith from dodge, who gave Chrisman good close matches in the regional, and state finals.

If I'm not mistaken, Vogel slapped Smith silly in the finals at Newton this year. So what does this all mean? They need to wrestle, king of the ring style, last one on the mat wins! Now that would be an interesting way to finally put an end to the class dispute. Just throw all of the wrestlers in the state on the floor of the Coliseum and just start chucking kids over the walls, whichever team has the last kid on the mat wins.
