As always, Coach Terry Alley and his volunteer parents who assisted with the tournament did an outstanding job!

Also, thanks to Bob Hovey for his camera clicking, and being a true reporter (always in the way).

Just kidding Hovey, I know you have to be in the way to get the great shots.

Kudo's also to the announcer, very knowledgable of the sport and many of the competitors, and Mr. Rinkenbaugh and the bracket runners for keeping the WALL BRACKETS up to date!

A job well done!

Richard, If I get in the way throw something at me or switch to a wide angle lens.

Did anybody see the Ashpole vs Bowman match? Just curious what happened in it. Had to go back to K-State so couldn't stay to watch the match. Thanks

Several photos of it now online. Jake won in overtime 4-2 with a reversal I believe. I stand corrected if I am wrong, but this is one match which lived up to it's billing. Both were fresh as neither worked more than two and a half minutes in their previous matches combined. Marcus had a takedown completed out of bounds in regulation. Both countered very well.

Congratulations to Jake Ashpole of Valley
Center being voted the Brian Luinstra MVP of this years tournament. In the finals Jake defeated Marcus Bowman of Columbus who, if I'm not mistaken, was last years winner of the same award.
Thanks to Hovey for his great coverage as usual!

It appears Columbus maybe could havce caught emporia for the team championship, but won only 1 of their championship finals, match and it looks like they barely squeaked that one out. The Ashpole-Bowman match is taled to be the best match of the day but, what do you think was the 2nd best finals match?

Emporia won six of their nine finals matches.
Hard to tell about the next best, but certainly the most interesting was at 215 pounds where Fouts pinned previously unbeaten Heffron in the first period.
Devoe had a tough match with Eberhart, winning by a point. It was Eberhart’s first loss. That would probably have to go in my book as the second best match.
