Nixdorf was suspended from Missouri Districts for a team infraction. He was involved in an altercation with another wrestler during practice. Per team rules he was suspended from the next event - in this case Districts; ergo ineligible for State. He was 45-0 and ranked #1 at the time. The Blue Springs coaches have called this a "life lesson." He is eligible for the Metro Classic and for HS Nationals (state runner-up last year). Sorry about the post length, but I did not want to misstate the situation. He is a D-I caliber wrestler.

For Kansas @ 189, Pingelton (Mill Valley) has beaten Washington Topeka High and Lyons Effingham on the same day. He has beaten both Monk and McGovern. The only legit wrestler he hasn't beaten in the Metro is the Atchinson kid. They should meet on Saturday so that should settle a lot.

Looking at the two (guesstimated) line-ups, it will come down to bonus points and three key matches.

KS has the advantage at 103, 112, 119, 189, and HWT.

MO has the advantage at 130, 135, 145, 152, 215 and 171.

The toss-ups are 125, 140, and 160

I think for Kansas to pull this off they will have to stay off their backs and win at least two of the toss-ups.

Lyons beat Weishaar and I do think Pingelton is better than Weishaar but don't forget how Pingeltons match with Lyons went. Lyons led the whole match until the last second. Pingelton is special and I think he will win state. The classic needs to wait until after state to pick its team. They should try to have state champions on the team when possible.

Listen Venegas, I wasn't trying to start a fire between us, just making a point. That is you wrestlers shouldn't put each other down like that, it's pointless. Can any one wrestler actually say that they have reached the level they have without all the opponents they have wrestled in the past. You all owe a debt of gratitude toward each other, and none of u should get a big head, It will keep you from getting better. As far as that crying thing, i shouldn't have brought it up, but u shouldn't have brought up dropping kimzey on his head, as a defending state champion you should hold a higher standard of yourself and not stoop to talking down on other wrestlers. Do not underestimate either grant or kimzey, they are both very determined wrestlers. Good luck to everyone at state and regionals.

B.J. Nixdorf hard lesson for him and his team. He will be missed at state. Hope to see him at the metro.

I coach in Missouri now but grew up wrestling in kansas and started coaching in Kansas. I'm pulling for my homestate boys at the metro classic although I will have to say the Missouri lineup is pretty tough. I would like to see Cole from Oak Park and Bogart wrestle at 140. That would be a match to see!!!!! "If the Kansas boys can get the missouri boys on the mat, I think Kansas would have the advantage"..

What time? When? Where is the Classic taking place this year? Will it be on Cable or any other type of TV? Is there a link to information regarding The Metro Classic?

I think we should wait until after state to set anything for certain.

The Kansas roster is set. At least one coach knows two of the kids on his team is wrestling in the metro. Does any one know the complete Ks roster?

I WANT TO SEE WEISHAAR IN THE CLASSIC IF NOT 189 MAYBE 215. AND DON'T TELL ME PINGLETON IS A BETTER CHOICE. HE COULDN'T ESCAPE FROM STRAIT.
