what teams that havnt been recognized as contenders do you think will fly in under the "radar" and challenge for a state title? 321-a, 4-5-6a?
thoughts? can you justify your answer? keep it clean and above the waist :p

Well, Im not sure about the state title, but BVN is 8-0 in duals so far and has a good team this year i think North could finish in the top 10 at state compared to 22? or whatever they were last year.

Oakley probably won't contend for the 321A title but I think they have an excellent shot to qualify quite a few wrestlers who will score points at state. Younkin is probably the only one who'll make the finals, but guys like the Samuelsons, Kuhlman, Kelly Younkin, Reitcheck, Jeff Dennis, Racette, and maybe someone else could score significant points and lift Oakley into the top 3. Their only weakness is 1st year coach Pete Koster. He's from Hoxie and doesn't know much about wrestling.

I would say with Smull out for Sainty, the second best team in 3-2-1A is Silver Lake (looked pretty good at Beloit). I haven't seen Norton this yet this year, but we will see them in a couple of days at P-Burg and I will have a better idea if there is a 3-2-1A team that can touch them. My thought right now is NO.

Norton will win it. Only team to legitimately give them a run is St. Francis. W/O Smull then they can't beat NT. Oakley will bein the fight for 3-5 as well as several other of those consistently tough NW teams (Oberlin,Hoxie, P-Ville, P-Burgh etc.)

Im a big time Norton Wrestling Fan and I really do think Norton will win it again. But there are some teams that will give a run, Maybe Sliver Lake, I still think Sainty will be tough. I dont know, i guess we will see who the champion is when is all said and done with and over. The only think i hate is how the "like" 4 or the top 5 teams are at the same regional. Good Luck NoRtOn

I agree maize has a good team. they are very strong in the middle weights. they need people to step up in the lower or higher classes if they want a state title.
