I just want to know when preseason practices start up at East Kansas. I want to get some practices in for myself as well as for some of my up and coming teammates.

I hear it will start in a week or two.
By the way Josh, how fat are you nowadays? Do you plan on moving up a few weight classes or what?

I am sitting at a cool 129-130. As far as what class I'll go, either 119 or 125.

There will be two places to get quality pre season training this fall:
MatSide Wrestling Academy. . .the program I am starting, and at the Kansas City Wrestling Club. . .Gonz Medina's club, which I will instruct 1 time a week. Details on both programs will be final in just a few days.
As far as the East Kansas Club goes, I plan on running it as a fs club in the spring . . how it was originally designed in 1985 by my father.
Everything that everyone needs will be available as ever. Just maybe not called all the same stuff.
No matter what the programs are called, production will remain the same in eastern Kansas . . . .Iron will shape iron!

Wrestlingparents, Thanks for your question. I will be instructing at a few different places: My academy will be at a private facility 3 minutes off of K-10 in between Desoto and Eudora that practices 2 days a week.
I will give private lessons in a wrestling facility in my home in Gardner. . 3 minutes off I-35.
And I will teach the KC Wrestling Club once a week. That club will practice once a week at Miege and once a week at a southern JO Co location.
World Champion Sammie Henson will be starting his own academy as well in Missouri by St Louis, and we have plans to 'swap' once a month or so as well.
All the other info you need is on my web site, and you can email me from there. Thanks

John Johnston,
Just answering your question. I also thought I'd be working with EK when I came back, and would've loved it. But I guess they start in less than a week. . and I never heard a thing. Oh well. Maybe next time.
ps tell Joe I said hi.

I just talked to Kevin on the phone. . .I guess I stand corrected. . . There will be 'several' places to get quality training this fall and East Kansas will be one of them. . .and I learned that they do plan on having me instruct it a lot of the time. . .which I will be more than willing to do. . . along with the other wrestling programs I have set up in the area. So basically, there should be something for everyone in one way or another.

So what are the age groups for the east kansas workouts?? What does it cost?? I'm really interested just haven't ever heard of it. Unfortunately I live in Southeast, Kansas, but I'd make a trip for instruction like that...

All ages are welcome buddy. Kevin Klemm has been producing champions of all ages for over twenty years out of the EK Club. He is in Cali now. . making sure Tanner Gardner, one East Kansas' own, wins a title for Stanford soon.
I hope to continue the EK legacy, build a wrestling academy, and get Kevin back to Kansas where he belongs (when business is finished in Cali)!

And by the way, Kevin will be a regular and frequent guest at EK and at my new academy . . . even though he now coaches at Stanford in California.
