From the Newton Online:

HALSTEAD — The Remington High School wrestling team split a pair of dual meets Thursday in Halstead.
Remington beat Flinthills 35-27 and lost to host Halstead-Sedgwick 42-18.

“Overall, I think our team competed pretty well,” Remington coach Tim Hesseltine said. “I liked our aggressiveness and attitude against Flinthills. (Cameron) Motter did a great job of setting the tone early in both duals. He is a great little sparkplug for us. He always gets after it. (Jordan) Nolan and (Jason) Lane both had huge wins for the Broncos. The confidence is building in those two, and you can see them about to turn the corner. Injuries and other issues are keeping several talented kids off the mat for us at the moment. When we get them back we will be a tougher team to deal with. (Cody) Austin clearly is showing up for each match. He is incredibly prepared everytime he steps on the mat. He is the leader of this team, and over the season our younger guys will develop his work ethic and discipline as he continues to help mold them.”

Austin won two matches by fall to improve to 11-0 this season, all by pin. Austin is ranked third in the 160-pound class and is on pace to break the school record of 23 pins set by Cory Motter in 1993 and the near fall record of 49 set by Tyler Coleman in 2001.

Remington is off until Jan. 5 when the Broncos host a home meet.
