From the wrestlers in each championship final, here's some interesting facts starting with number of wrestlers each regional sight put into the finals:
Oberlin Regional - 16
Rossville - 5
Eureka - 4
Hoisington - 3

Of the 28 finalists Norton has 6, St Francis-4, Beloit-2, and Eureka-2. The following schools have 1 finalist: Decatur Comm, Effingham, Hillsboro, Hoxie, Oakley, Phillipsburg, Rock Creek, Rossville, Sabetha, Sedgwick, Silver Lake, Smith Center, Wakeeny, and Wichita Co.

Probably the biggest suprise of day one (to most people) was Bina-Hillsboro beating Schamberger-Hoxie @ 152lbs.

Day 2 promises to be exciting!

The first impression will be a lasting impression

I think that the guys up Northwest way had it so easy they were rested, and look how well they did this week, hardly seems fair. Maybe the other guys should get to bring eight.

pretty convincing stats-- Norton was so overpowering at state, as was Andale in 4a, there will be a lot of conjecture on both sides over what may have taken place had Norton had those 2 more students that would have made them 4a. The fact that in many weights those two teams would have matched in quality would have made a lot of head to head competition, and a show that would have been entertaining.
