Migchelbrink is in a class of his own at this weight in 321A. Everyone else is fighting for second in my opinion.

Watts really turned some heads at Eureka when he beat Cole Zolagamn. I know Cole got hurt but Watts was dominated the match long before that happened. Then at Fredonia he Beat Bowen from Rose Hill in the Finals and was named OW.

My records show 6 state placers at that weight, Migchaelbrink 3,2,3, Zahorsky 4, Bainter 2, Zoglman 3, Weatherhead 6, Brakenbrack 5. And 6 state qualifers: Hewitt, Watts, Motter, Contrerras, Zimmerman, Williams. Tough Weight!

I've been following something throughout the season that I've thought was interesting, and it's kind of being touched on here so I'll share.

To the best of my knowledge(I only follow tournaments that have atleast one 321a school involved) the outstanding wrestler award has gone to a 125lber SIX times this season. Five have been 321a kids, you'll find the exception in the list below:

Lincoln OW
Weatherhead(BV)

Hesston OW
Zoglman(GP)

St. Francis OW
Migchelbrink(AT)

Fredonia OW
Watts(BT)

Phillipsburg OW
Zahorsky(PB)

Augusta OW
Zahm(CO) - Zahm beat Zoglman 3-1 in the finals

It's a tought weight class, that's for sure, but I don't see Watts hanging up there with Michaelbrink, sorry. Even though he won OW at Fredonia, it was really anybody's match to win until the final seconds when Watts threw his hips over and stuck in the grapevine.

Weatherhead of Republic County has lost 3 times this season to the same person. Hewitt of Beloit. Should be noted that Weatherhead beat him once early in the season. This class should be loaded. Looking forward to a great State Tournament. To many good wrestlers to pick one- Good Luck to all

One more tough kid to add to the list is Floyd (Freshman)from Osborne. He has wins over Bainter and Zahorsky at our League Tourney. Bainter won the dual match last night against Floyd. Good positive win for Bainter going into regionals next week. They won't see each other again until state as Floyd goes to a different regional But with these 3 in our league it only makes all 3 better.

Dman, I don't know for sure who will be top six. Michghelbrink(sp) Bainter and Zahorsky in there some kind of order. It will be a dog fight at regionals and state as loaded as this weight is.

Floyd can beat anyone on a given day. He as an unusual defensive style and if you under estimate his quickness he will make you pay. As for the atwood kid I would not say he's in a league of his own. As I recall he was beaten 1st round at state last year. My point is I believe there are about five or six kids with a shot at a championship. You have to win every round. Don't count out the MCL boys just yet.

I ain't counting out any MCL boys this year at any weight. Toughest league in the state this year in 321A. I'm glad that they got split up for regionals. That way we get as many of them as we can to state.

I'd say if Cole Zoglman's wrestles like he can he would be able to make the finals, but I have heard his heart is not exactly in it this year and he's just coming off an injury. Watts has been pretty good this year pulling off two big wins against state medalist in Dustin Bowen and Cole Zoglman. Bainter has not done so hot this year, but last year he really turned it on at state.
Matt Migchelbrink looks like he should win it to me because you think he has to be hungry for it being his last chance at a title. I have seen Floyd wrestle before and was not very impressed, but after the MCL tourney he had you might be looking at a 4 time placer or 4 time champ. Zahorsky has wrestled well all year having Bainter and Floyd to push him at tournaments, I look for him to make some noise. Weatherhead and Hewitt to me are the odd men out in this weight, but they both could do some damage.
