Congrats to the Baldwin HS team. Kit Harris, his staff, and all those who worked the tournament are to be commended for a well run, efficient and classy regional tournament. It takes a lot to host one of these and I, my team, and our fans appreciate the work that was done. I am sure others feel the same. Good Luck to all the state qualifiers.

Very Well Ran tournament and great venue. Just got in about 5 minutes ago and am whooped! I would like to thank the Callahan family for hosting me in their house and be a pain in their side. Also to my beloved Irish, GREAT JOB! See everyone at state next week!

Just wondering why if you have a very nice, almost new High School that has all kinds of room, probably state of the art equipment for announcing and music, do you use the J.H.? Like I said, just wondering???

To respond to questions:

Mr. Winter, we didn't announce every name for every match because the sound system is not very good. We instead had the weight class of every match on the scoreclocks.

When a complaint was brougt to my attention about crowd, I asked my AD to address this and keep kids back.

The HS gym was not used because it is not adequate for a tournament such as this. It does not have a sound system at all and only one very small section of bleachers on one wall. The JH gym seats about 2,500 I believe, and the HS gym seats probably about 600. The HS gym was not built for competitions, the plan was to continue using the JH gym for varsity-level sporting events (don't ask me why, I think it has to do with an effort to keep cost of bond issue down so it would pass ten years ago??).

Oldtimer81, dont waste your life away being bitter. I assume one (or many) of your kids lost to a Baldwin kid. I am no Baldwin fan, but come on if you have problems with how this tourney was run, you either have the bar set way too high or just havent been to very many.

Nice job, Kit.. I forget how much the wrestling community gets paid for all their efforts and can be picked at from those who have never put any of their time & sweat into it, to get nothing but fullfilment out of it... We do it for the kids not the grumpy bitter parents or fans...

Take care and good luck at Salina

Thank you for the compliments. But it wasn't just me, we had a LOT of helpers!

I hope my explanations answered some questions.

Your right tknskc and I want to apologize to everyone. I made them posts because I was angry, but not because anybody got beat by a baldwin wrestler. They have alot of good wrestlers and there is no shame in getting beat by a good wreslter. Thats why I took down the posts (because I did do it out of anger). However I do stand by what I said.
