12U 9/22
14U 12/24
16U 5/20

Do we really need sub districts? Only 47 out of 104 brackets have more than 4 competitors. I would love to see this data for ALL sub districts. It is sorely needed to evaluate the options for redistricting, reducing the number of weight classes or cutting out sub districts all together. There are only 14 high school weights so why do we need 20 in 16 and under? There are only 71 competitors in 16U in 20 classes which averaged out to a little more than 3.5. Maybe 16 and Under should be a seperate state tournament the weekend after high school state using high school weights. No qualifier, just an open state tournament. One day event in Salina, Wichita, McPherson, or Hays. This would give us more room for kids state.

I can see why you might say there is no reason for sub-districts given the low #'s in district 2, but have you looked at the area covered by district 4? Its huge, it covers almost the etire western half of the state! I would bet alot of district 2 will make it to state and alot of district 4 kids will have to stay at home because of high #'s.

I am with Will, let's do it like Oklahoma...have 4 District or Regional Tournaments and take the top 6 from each to state. 24 kids in each full bracket. The 4 champs and 4 runners-up get byes the first round at state. Do away with one full week of the season. Would make the seeding meetings more interesting as there would be fewer RR. And also give more kids a chance to go to the state tournament each year. If needed move the weigh-ins to Friday morning and start wrestling Friday evening to get in the extra matches at state. But, I think Oklahoma does theirs in 2 days so it can be done.

Also since D2 south has posted the brackets from the seeding meeting why can't we at least get the names of the kids from D2 north? And others? I see where D4 north has posted the list of kids in each weigh. Possibly in seeded order, not sure?

Great Job D2 South and D4 North!!!!

D4 North has there postings list in order of the seed. As for D2 North, give it a little time. They'll be posted soon enough. Give Juby or whomever is posting them time to do so, it's not like it will change anything you already know.
