sometimes they have more than one weight class and usually no 103. so I would say 2 112 or 119 matches and maybe another 1 or 2 sprinkled in. I thought there were 20 matches last year or something.

I would like to see Josh Hinman get a chance to represent the small schools, he was 37-1 on the year at 130.

Geinger-St. Francis lost to hudgins. Geinger won state, but obviously it was week. 152 should be hudgins

I agree, Hudgins should be the pick for the Small Schools at 152

Anyone who has coached wrestling for any length of time has seen someone defeated by another wrestler who is not necessarily better than they are. One any given day it can happen, that's why we wrestle'em. As an NWKL coach who has seen Jordan Geinger wrestle many times, I take offense at your attempt to water down his title by saying state was "week" (weak). Yes Hudgins won the match at the Hays tournament, and yes Hudgins is a very good wrestler, but finishing 4th(with 4 losses) at the state tournament should take him out of the running for the Senior Classic..Give me Geinger with 1 loss and a state championship anyday.

Yeah whatever you say, but look at the losses Hudgins had. I would put money that those guys would beat geinger too. State Title or not Hudgins is better than Geinger

well its hard to say that geinger would have won the 4a state title. nice try. dont try to water down east kansas wretling either. his losses came to markey 3rd place calss 5a, Thoman 3rd place class 4a, Willman 2nd Place class 4a, and a blue springs kid 3rd place class 4 missouri

I think Irvine who only lost 2 matches (1 to Riner at 171 and 1 to Rush at 189) should get some consideration based on what he did on the year as a whole. He beat some damn good wrestlers and was a bit of a surprise in winning the Basehor Tournament.

Guys,
Let me begin by apologizing for the tone of my first post. I in no way meant to demean the accomplishments of a fine wrestler like Hudgins, and certainly meant no disrespect to Eastern Kansas (I coached at Wamego for 3 years and Junction City for 4 and saw incredible wrestlers from all classes). I guess in the end, we need to realize that we are all biased to a certain extent toward the boys we see grow up and wrestle in our areas and really there is no bad choice. Whether it be Geinger, Hudgins, Irvine, or someone who has not been metioned yet there is no bad choice. Anyone who could be considered is certainly worthy and will represent themselves well. Whoever is chosen...best of luck and I will be there to cheer you on, not as an Eastern or Western Kansas fan, but as a fan of wrestling.

If I remember correctly gienger took hudgens down, put him in a cradle and put himself on his back in a suicide cradle. Hudgens was able to only score three points after that first period. One escape and one reversal, where he was immedialty reversed again.

After mentioning all of this it was giengers first tournament back from injury. He hadn't even wrestled a match since before christmas.

dont you mean HUDGINS. and dont say hudgins was "ONLY" able to score 3 points after the first period. because it was 4 points... and gienger only scored two points after the first period. so if you take away the first period and the suicide cradle that gienger put himself to his back with... he still loses 4-2. thanks. oh and i think that hinting he lost becuase of injury is pretty week in my book.

I believe believe he scored 9 points, and the last time I checked 9 minus six was three.

I was not saying that an injury was impairing gienger, but having three weeks off of wrestling is a disadvantage. 3-3 and did hudgens get a takedown?
