There are several big names to drop for this age/weight. If you look at the sub-district postings and look thru the #1 and #2 seeds, you will find a very impressive list of some great wrestlers. But it doesn't stop just at the #1 and #2 seeds. By the way, how in the world did Landon Wood get a #6 seed in subs??!

This should be a very fun bracket to watch. There are at least 9 last year state placers plus somewhere around another 8 kids that qualified for state throughout all the subdistrict entries for this age and weight.

I knew so many of the names when I was reading through the entries that I did a little homework on last years placers, etc. I didn't write down where everyone placed, but I know at least 3 were State Champs and at least 3 took 2nd.

I also noted that 2-3 state placers are from each of the districts so the talent is coming from all over. That should make for a very interesting State bracket!

Good luck to all, and I hope to see you in Topeka!

Craig,
Landon lost in Hutch to a kid, and knowing this Landon knew he wan't going to be the #1 seed. The morning of the seeding meeting Landon said "i want to go 70 and seed me last, i want him first round!!!" That is why he is seeded #6 and his first round is against the kid that he lost to in Hutch. Landon decided 70 after watching the finals at the Classic.

I figured it was something like that. From the outside looking in it just looked odd to see such a highly decorated and great wrestler with the last seed in subs.

I agree this should be a very exciting weight class to watch. There are several very talented individuals in this weight class. The nice thing is most of these boys are at the bottom of 10 and under so we will probably be able to see this same competition again next year. Good luck to all who make it. See you at State.
