Need a general time frame of events for State. Never been to a 16-man bracket tournament before and don't have any idea how spread out the rounds may be in this venue. About how long can we expect to be watching wrestling on Saturday, assuming our wrestler makes it on through to Sunday? Is there enough time between rounds to leave the Expo for a meal back at the hotel or would leaving be asking for trouble? Thank you for your help...

Friday Night weigh-ins only 4 to 7.
Wrestling starts at 9 am but could be earlier, depends on fast the parade goes.
We wrestle out through the semi's and one round on the back side of the bracket. Usally getting out between 7 and 8pm. If you leave the building make sure you have a cell phone to contact someone in the arena.
Sunday wrestling starts at 8am with finals starting around 2, but the finals could start early to so we recommend that you listen to announcements on Sunday. Finalist should be in the building by 1230-1pm to be safe.
It's alot of wrestling but is also a lot of fun.
Hopes this helps.

Thanks Nedly:
Helped a lot!!
Just to make sure I understand then...on Saturday--Round 1 will wrestle plus two more rounds on the right side of the bracket and one more round on the left side of the bracket. After Saturday wrestling then, that leaves two undefeated wrestlers to wrestle the Championship round on Sunday afternoon with the rest of the kids who didn't finish up Saturday to do so on Sunday morning.
Will there be mats designated for each age group? If so, will all 1st rounds for each weight in that age group wrestle before the 2nd rounds for that age begin?
Just need some idea so that relatives who can't get into town for the 1st round won't make the mistake of being too late for the next round.
Thank you again!!
P.S. Being the eternal optimist here, is it possible that a kid could wrestle starting early on Saturday morning and still be wrestling on the right side of the bracket into Saturday evening too, or will the right side be done earlier in the afternoon?

Plumgang,
The semi's are the last matches wrestled on Saturday. If you make it that far you will wrestle 3 times on Saturday.
If you loss your first match you will wrestle one more on Saturday.
I will post mat Assignments later tonight or on Monday. Still trying to finish that up.
Hopes this helps.

plumgang, We just put a cooler and snacks in the van and take turns going out to make sandwiches or whatever. We have never taken the chance of leaving the Expo completely. Get there early and get a good parking spot!
