The Kansas City Wrestling Club and the Leavenworth Country Wrestling Team (Spartans) will sponsor a
free “
Freestyle / Greco Rules and Strategy Clinic” on 12 April, at Saint James Academy. This is the second year USA Wrestling will use the new FILA rules adopted in 2005. New rules such as changes in periods, the push out rule, and the new Greco-Roman start will be discussed. This clinic will help understand the new rules and how they are being interrupted after a years worth of wrestling in the US.

Cost: Free. Present USAW Competitor or Coaches Card at the door.
Clinicians and Schedule:
6:00 to 6:30 – Rules and Etiquette
• Mark Anderson – Mr. Anderson has officiated under the new FILA rules at numerous national events to include the US Open and the Armed Forces Championships.
6:30 to 6:40 – Break
6:40 to 7:30 – Strategy and Tips of Winning Wrestling
• Erik Akin – Years of experience in multiple styles of wrestling at the international, national, and collegiate levels. He will discuss strategy and demonstrate technique focused on the new rules. Wrestlers bring you gear, we will be working on the mat.
All wrestlers must present their USA wrestling card at the door. If you do not have your 2006 USAW card, we will sign you up. Cost is $30.
