There is a head coach opening at Bishop Carroll High School. I am taking a principal's job at Resurrection grade school, a K-8 grade school in NE Wichita.

My assistant, Coach Zapata, is not interested in being head coach so the position is wide open. If you are interested contact AD Larry Dostert at (316) 722-2390 or dostertlarry@bcchs.org as soon as possible. BC has Social Studies, English, Spanish and counseling openenings.

It is a great job. We will have the number 1 ranked team in 5A with 3 returning state champions, 1 returning state finalist and a returning 3rd place finisher who was a state champion the year before. We have not lost a dual since January of 2001, a streak of 85 straight victories and have been City League Champions for the last five years. We have also been state champions 2 of the last 3 years. We have finished in the top 3 in state 7 of the last 10 years. This will only continue with good young wrestlers and a couple of great incoming freshman. (Why am I leaving again?)

I would like to thank all of my fellow coaches who have inspired or influenced me over the years. Coach Stovall at Newman left me with a winning program and tons of support. Coach Shelton at Valley Center has taught me more about coaching then I think he ever realized. Coach Garcia at Hutchionson has inspired me beyond measure. And the fraternity of Wichtia City league coaches has been a constant source of support.

Thank you and good luck.

Jamie Finkeldei

Congratulations Jamie. You are a tremdous young man and your accomplishments are great. You earned respect from coaches all across the state with your honesty, work ethic and humbleness. You will be missed my friend. I am sure the grade school is getting a good leader and that the administration will find a good replacement. We had some great battles with you and Mark Stovall and I remember all the good wrestling matches we had. Have a good summer from Old Gonzo. RMG

I'm just in it for the parking.

Richard,

Don't be suprised if there are frogs and locusts in your front yard sometime in the near future.

Coach:

In the event the locusts arrive I will be certain to have the fungus metarhizium anisopliae readily available. This fungus grows naturally in the soil and can cause disease in grasshoppers, locusts, and many other insects and generally causes death of the infected insect within a few days.

The frogs - well fried frog legs are very tasty!

Where do you come up with this type of information.

What if you're dating a Catholic and go to several masses a month? Would that make me eligible for the BC opening?

I believe so. Surely Roman Catholics aren't the only ones interested in 'spiritual growth'. Us, protestants are interested to! Vote for PRANT! ;-)

I'm Catholic and I'd love to be coach there! All I'd have to do is stand there, smile for the interviews and watch those studs win 95 percent of their matches, and very likely a team title!! Whoever gets the job is lucky indeed!

Andy, I know you didn't mean for it to come accross the way that I read your post, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that read it that way. Finkeldei did much more than just stand there and look good for interviews. Lets try and give credit where credit is due.

Looking good for interviews is tough enough for him, so lets give him some credit for his efforts.
