I video just about all my son's matches- AND some of his toughest (seemingly unbeatable) opponents. I tape mostly just to have as a keepsake to remember these years in the kids club. If it weren't for our wonderful coach taking the time to review some of my son's toughest matches on video (as well as his toughest opponents) and using that to teach him the techniques at practice that he needs to beat those opponents the next time....we probably wouldn't be going to State this weekend. As it stands, we're Topeka bound. Tapes (or "Gamefilm" if you want to call it that) are excellent sources of training for these young wrestlers. It's great for them to be able to watch themselves (or their opponents) and have coaches "show" them exactly what they're doing right and wrong. Knowing your opponent and having a "strategy" has helped my son tremendously this year. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. It's just a good way to learn.
