I want to let you all know about the tournament this year. It is a well run tournament in a first class facility, with outstanding competition. Last year we had 97 clubs represented from 7 Midwest states.

The Kansas wrestlers that attended represented themselves well. Please consider joining them this year. Our Information is below:

* If a wrestler does not make the weight specified on the registration form, they can have the option to switch for a $20.00 fee or be scratched from the tournament. If a wrestler chooses to switch weight classes they will not be seeded in their new bracket.

** The division is determined based on the wrestlers age the date of the tournament. Proof of age is recommended.

Match Format
6U, 8U, 10U and 12U divisions will be 1-1-1 minute periods.
14U will be 1.5-1.5-1.5 minute periods.

$35.00 walk-in (Friday night only)

* Registrations by mail should be received by Wednesday, December 19th. Registrations received after December 19th will not be accepted. Walk-in registrations will be accepted on Friday, December 21st from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

** Online registrations will have a small processing fee added to the registration amount.

Criteria:
1. All team members compete for points.
2. Points are assigned for placing (tracked by software).
3 Team winners are calculated by the software.

Outstanding wrestler:
Awarded to:
The outstanding wrestler in each division (6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U)

Yes, a list will be posted eventually. It will probably be some time in November.

Another update... The Holiday Inn Downtown is now our host hotel. They are offering a $69/night group rate. When making the reservation ask for the "Heartland Championships" rate.

They have an indoor pool, fitness room, and all you can eat pasta buffet on Friday night. Call 800-238-6146 for a reservation.

Our tournament web site is currently down. According to our service provider it should be up in a day or two. I will provide an update when it's back online. You can still register at http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1488002.

Also, I've heard from our host hotel that rooms are filling up. So, it sounds like another good tournament is in the making.

I've started to receive a few registrations. They should start to get heavier in a couple of weeks. We have IA, MN, and ND represented so far... I'll try my best to get a registration list posted on the web site.

Just a quick update to let you all know we currently have wrestlers committed from 6 states - IA, NE, SD, ND, MN and CO. I expect KS and MO to be represented shortly bringing the number to 8. It is shaping up to be another good tournament.

We seem to get questions about the weight classes each year, and this year is no exception. So, here is a quick example.

40.1 to 45 = 45
45.1 to 50 = 50
50.1 to 55 = 55
and so on...

So, a wrestler that weighs 45.2 will be placed in the 50 lb bracket.

Great job Kansas you are now represented. We are at seven states (IA, NE, SD, ND, MN, CO, and KS) and counting.

Are you going to be able to post some of the numbers or names of the wrestlers that you have signed up for the tournament? You said about 2 months ago that you would possibly have it up by late November. Any luck it will be up soon?

Wisconsin is now in... That's eight states. It should be a good one!

kswrestlermom - sorry about not having the registrations posted yet. Unfortunately, it requires double entry for me (tournament software & web site), and I seem to be unusually busy with other committments this year.

At this point I'm just hoping to have something posted before tournament day.

Sorry I haven't been able to post sooner. We are getting hit with some good registration numbers. We are out pacing last year.

I have a PARTIAL list of registrations posted on the web site, about 200. That's the best I can do right now as I need to re-enter the registrations for the web. I'm focusing on getting registrations entered into the tournament software.

We have extended the registration deadline. Mail-in registrations will be received up to Friday at 9:00 AM. On-line registrations are available until Friday at 10:00 AM.

The weather indicates some snow is possible (40%) but nothing severe. The tournament will go on as planned.
