How soon is everyone starting to wrestle. We will be holding a takedown tournament on December 1 at Chaparral High School in Harper, KS. If your wrestlers are like some of ours they need to work on takedowns. The rules will be on our website "http://www.kidssportsnet.com/wrestling/ckwrestling/" under the "VARIA" button. or you can contact me at ckwrestling1@hotmail.com. Also open to suggestions to possible rule changes to get the most out of each wrestler in the learning aspect. I will be sending flyer out in October.

Thanks.

This tournament is in split format and an open and novice tournament. Chaparral High School is about 45 minutes sw of Wichita. We have plenty of room in the gym and a big commons area and cafeteria.

Little confused. Morning vs. afternoon session; on the flyer, it says Novice are in the afternoon; on the post here it says they are in the morning. Ideally for us, coming from Dallas, open in afternoon would be best so we could just drive up in the morning. Clarification please? Many thanks.

My pleasure--and that makes it easier for us to make it up there--we just need to be there for the afternoon weigh in, and then time to rumble. Do you expect good numbers for 10U 75#? Thanks.

My biggest thing with putting open in the afternoon is that the younger wrestlers and parents don't ever get to sleep in. They always have to get up early, it's time they get a break.
I hope I have good numbers in all of my weight divisions. Glad that you are coming. See you then.

Is this the first time you have held a take down tournament? If not, how many kids do you average. Also, can a club have a wrestler wrestle in both the novice and open sessions?

They can as long both as long as they are a first or second year wrestler and haven't won a big open tournament. This is the first time we have ran it, but I got a lot of interest from other clubs last year. That is why I decided to run one this year.

This year we will be putting the names of all the wrestlers entered in our tournament on the back of the tournament shirts. Anyone who is not entered by Saturday November 24, 2007 at 6:00 pm will not be on the shirt. The front design of the tshirt is now on our website (under the flyer):
"http://www.kidssportsnet.com/wrestling/ckwrestling/" under the "VARIA" button."

DO YOU NEED TO HAVE A CLUB COACH PRESENT WITH YOU AT THIS TOURNAMENT?

You will need to have a coach on the mat with each wrestler.

We have seen some interest for Springfield MO and out of Oklahoma. Sounds like there is going to be some good competition. Hope to see everyone there.
