This was my first time at the Colby tournament and it was a blast. I enjoyed the format (Pools of 3 with the respective placers in each pool wrestling against each other) and thought the whole town was supporting the tournament.
Some other thoughts:
1. Colby is a very solid dual team. I am not sure how they will do overall at 4A state but if 4A had a dual team format I would have to think Colby would be favored.
2. Taylor Moeder is all business and I expect to see him in the 4A finals.
3. Every Kansas high school wrestler should get to wrestle out in Western Ks at least once in his career. It is fun to see a large crowd suppport a team.
4. Garden City has some really good small guys.
5. Look out for Joe Newberry and Matt Colovich from Shawnee Heights.
