Mark your calenders. The 16th Annual Metro Classic is to be wrestled at the Kansas City, Kansas Community College at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008.

Missouri is as powerful as they have been the last two years. Kansas, having beaten them in both of those years, is looking for its third straight win. This maybe the best one ever.

Me too! I can't help but throw out a line-up. Remember, they get a 7 pound allowance. Maybe we can skip a lower weight to wrestle 2 HWT matches.

103 - Michael Provencher
112 - Collin Hase
119 - Nathan McCormick
125 - Matt Noblet
130 - Jake Tanenbaum
135 - Anthony Livengood
135 - Phillip Henes
140 - Aldon Isenberg
145 - Nick Flynn
152 -
160 - Gabe Mason
171 - Phil Witt
189 - Matt Baker
215 - Jake Kober
285 - Duane Zlatnik
285 - Atticus Disney

Missouri's possible roster: Not that it has mattered in the past, but they will be favored on paper.

112 - Karimi - Richmond
119 - Forrest - Ray Pec
125 - Lowe - Liberty
135 - Pierce - Kearney
140 - Russell - Oak Grove
145 - Joiner - OP
152 - St. Louis - Platte
160 - Hall - OP
171 - Neely - Blue Springs
189 - Haynes - OP
215 - Kono - OP
285 - Madison - OP
285 - Mikulich - Park Hill South

I had him at 140 because of the 7 pound allowance. He would only have to make 147.

Meyer of Sabetha at 152 might work also-runner-up by 1pt last year and 11-0 now with 9falls and 2tf. But I am biased!

No offense to Aticus and Barry but I would love to see a Zlatnick vs Madison match. I have seen Disney wrestle Elijah several times but never got to see the beast from Rossville hook horns with the man from Oak Park. What does everyone else think?

I agree. Atticus certainly deserves to wrestle at the Classic, but as far as matching up with Madison, I would also like to see Zlatnik wrestle him. It would also send Duane off with a bang with his last hurrah from wrestling. Hopefully they could schedule both HWT's with a match.

Is Metro before or after Senior Nationals?

Which is odd considering how much "KSHSAA holds our kids back" from being competitive.

Pittsburg is further than 100 miles from KC. Sure wish we could use him. Romero would also fit in well...
