I know people are busy but does anyone do the 6a rankings? I have not seen them updated this year.

At 103 I would have...

1. J. Vesta MH
2. R. Windham DB
3. I. Ruiz JC
4. T. Humphrey SMS
5. ???

Anyone care to add their input

103 Shawnee Mission South-Trey Humphrey 20 or 22-0 should get some strong consideration.

I talk with the person regularly that maintains the 6A rankings. They have been updated at some weights. Tre Humphrey is currently ranked #4 at 103. He is undefeated and should meet Caleb Seaton this weekend at the Husky Invite.

Thanks chief. I see that the rankings have Wenzal from Wichita North ranked at 103 but the results have him wrestling 112.

I hear you. There are several other changes that need to be made.

JT Kozlowski is 130, not 125.
Jeff Childs is 160, not 145.
Joey Lutz is 140, not 135.
Gage Deere is 189, not 171.

There are a few that I don't expect to wrestle again this year or have not even wrestled yet. Hopefully this can be corrected soon. Input is very helpful from the wrestling community!

Any thoughts on how they should be ranked?

Yep.... But I want to support the 6A ranker instead of competing with him. I enjoy maintaining an All-Class ranking, but appreciate the efforts of our volunteer rankers for each class.

If the 6A ranker doesn't have time to do it, maybe someone else can. Sorry but we are half way through the season and there are no updates. I understand you don't what to compete, but every class update almost every week. We haven't had one update. I understand that it is a thankless job and he doesn't get paid maybe he should pass it to someone who enjoys doing that. We have just waited along time sorry.

I agree. 6A rankings are long overdue. I recognize that ranking wrestlers it is a thankles task with no financial reward or incentives ... but the other classes seem to get things done in a timely manner and keep us reasonably abreast of the rankings in their respective class. I would not blame anyone for not "wanting" to assume and/or tackle this responsibility for this task... but evidently someone "did" volunteer for this thankless task ... therefore, I would suggest that this "volunteer" either let it go and and let someone else take the reigns and get things done! Otherwise, what is the point or purpose of these preliminary rankings? We already know that everything will be decided at state. Regretably 6A wrestling has evolved into the "Whistler's father" of Kansas wrestling ...
Why?

alot of interest? I am the the 6a ranker, and I have been updating them weekly. Not every weight gets changed, especially when the 6A coaches do not give their imput. I want to say again as I did last year. If your coaches do not believe in your wrestlers enough to submit their imput each week then feel free to pm me and give yours. I have only had 7 coaches this year submit their thoughts and updates. Now keep it in mind their is 32 6A coaches so most are not putting the effort in to ranking your wreslers. I would say ask, or insist to your coach to start emailing me or pm me with their wreslers info at least weekly. Two weeks ago several changes were made because the wrestlers themselves told me where they would be wrestling. Thanks to Chief Renegade I have been getting information on the wrestlers in the north east. Since there is a few that have apparently not really noticed that there has been changes weekly, I would be more than happy to let you know if your coach has emailed me or not. Just pm me, I have no problem telling you. Now Here is another one, look at the imput and effort that the coaches do on submitting their results and you can see that it apparently doesnt matter to them. Unfortunately rankings is pretty much on what I have seen by looking into newspaper around the state to get results and it takes hours but it would be helpful if the coaches would respond to my initial letter that I sent to the schools and the emails but since they dont I end up spending hours on the net each night. My son has graduated, and I am still doing this because I care about Kansas wrsetling. Believe it or not others that rank nationally look into our rankings to compile theirs. I beleive it benifits our wrestlers in the long run and would hope that each and everyone whom wishes to complain would ask you coach to get involved. Sorry so lengthy but It bothers me that it appear that the head coaches cant take 5 minutes to email me with their info. I would like to thank the 7 coaches that emailed me.
I update weekly on the ranking web site not in the talk forums!

Mel,
I'm sorry that you've been having the problems getting data for the 6A rankings. This problem is serious because it caries over into communicating with the media in general. Newspaper reporting is spotty at best depending on the local community. Perhaps we need some volunteers in each community to help the coaches get the information to you and the media. All of us in wrestling should be concerned because we are losing ground. A study of NCAA and NHSF data for the last 20 years shows that we are losing participants at both HS and College levels.

A heads up for the 285 weight class. Not sure why Irion is ranked from Goddard, I don't believe he has even wrestled this year. May want to look at the results from 275 at Newton, it had some of the best 275 wrestlers in the state at the tourney. The competition there will be harder than state for that weight class.

Glad he is not out for the year, I haven't seen him in any tourneys this year. He shouldn't be ranked until he gets some matches under his belt and some noticable victories, that is only fair.
