Looks as if Delich won the championship for Mill Valley at 130. This would give the team 1 champion for the tourney.

I am also curious about Elijah's finals match. Can someone provide a few details please? Isn't it true that his opponent is going for his third state title this year?

Madison was up by I believe a 6-1 margin when late in the second period Zlatnik was scrambling trying for the escape/reversal and got caught with his feet/legs over Madison's back with his back exposed to the mat. Elijah was able to secure both arms in what appeared to be a chicken wing and got the pin. The third/fourth place match ended very similar. Adcox up 4-2 when late in the third Gjerstad tried a reversal and got cought and pinned with 10 seconds left in the match. Both matches very much better than the box score would indicate. Zlatnik is an OUTSTANDING wrestler who literally outclassed everyone there by a wide margin except Elijah. I wouldn't let the fact he got pinned by Madison diminish your opinion of him, he is a fantastic technician. He will get his third title this year. If Zlatnick and Madison were to wrestle 10 times, give maybe 6 to Madison and 4 to Zlatnik. It was awesome watching two incredibly talented big men go head to head.

I was impressed with the quickness that Madison exhibited when he went up against Zlatnik. I've got to watch Zlatnik wrestle and know that he is extremely fast and rarely gets caught in a bad position. I definately agree that it was more exciting then the score indicated.

I agree with pretty much everything you have said, but I think you are being kind with the above statement.I beleive that if they were to wrestle 10 times he would be hard pressed to beat Madison 2 times.I think Madison is a on a different level than Zlatnik. Zlatnik is bigger and that's about the only advantage he has verses Madison.I think the only way he could beat Madison is by staying in under hooks or collar ties, but if he tried to wrestle with Madison you would end up with the same result(maybe not pinned but he would lose).

You may very well be right. Madison if phenominal. I guess maybe this is the first time I'd seen Zlatnik wrestle and was extremely impressed with him as well. I'd read the hype about him on the forum and wanted to see for myself. I was not dissapointed. It's all true, he's an awesome wrestler. But when it all comes down to it, you are probably right, Elijah is probably really that much better. I don't see Zlatnik getting pinned again either. Was a great match.

I would say that it would be more on the lines of a 50/50. They have wrestled many times in their youth and it has gone back and fourth with "bubba" getting him the last 2 times. I know one thing that duane would go into the match a little differently than he did on saturday. He does not have to worry about trying to protect his unblemished record now. The loss was duane first loss in 2 years to the day. Congrats to "bubba" there is a reason why he is ranked where he is,along with his team. It really helps when you have the bodies in the wrestling room and have the opportunity to travel, where ever to face the best competition.

I'll be the first in line to buy my ticket to watch these two wrestle ten times to see what the real numbers are. Of course that would take two days because they can only wrestle five matches a day. I admire Zlatnik even more because Rossville had limited entries in the BIT (I take that to mean the entire team didn't go) and he still chose to go with his undefeated record on the line knowing full well he'd meet Madison in the finals. Class young man. I also agree having quality bodies in the practice room and the freedom to travel to where the best competition is would be a tremendous plus.

I would be right there with you purchasing that ticket. Zlatnik has definately shown why he has been a dominate force in wrestling thru his high school career in Kansas. Madison is to be commended for the match and win. Not many people have taken the Zlatnik kid to his back and to be able to hold him down was simply amazing and a sight not seen in recent match ups. Both appear to be classy young men.

That may be the only criteria that we can use to choose a HWT to wrestle Elijah at the Metro Classic. I say, sign Atticus up for March 5th!
