I know one thing that duane would go into the match a little differently than he did on saturday. He does not have to worry about trying to protect his unblemished record now. The loss was duane first loss in 2 years to the day. Congrats to "bubba" there is a reason why he is ranked where he is,along with his team. It really helps when you have the bodies in the wrestling room and have the opportunity to travel, where ever to face the best competition.

You can't talk about youth stats now that they are both in high school. I would say that both wrestlers have matured and any advantage that one had over the other as kids is no longer valid.

I would love to see the rematch also but 50/50 no way.You also say it was his 1st lost in 2 years, I was wondering does he or his team travel outside the state? I'm not sure what Madison's record has been the last 2 years but I think his only losses were to Bradley of Blue Springs.Who was one of if not the best heavyweights in the country.

I think that would be the worst match of the night.I have seen them wrestle before and Atticus has DONE nothing to impress. All I have seen him do is tie up, hold on and take chances on the edge of the mat.

In what I have seen out of Kansas I think that Zlatnik is better than Atticus.

I disagree i am pretty positive atticus would beat zlatnik.. and i also wouldnt be surprised if andrus beat Zlatnik as well, before his injury of course. I believe last time Zlatnik wrestled Andrus it was at brute nationals in the finals a year or 2 back and i believe Big Steve pinned him

Steve did not pin Duane. And I really dont think Andrus and Disney are as superior to Zlatnik as many of you think.

Madisson offered no offense in the match FYI

Actually Steve did pin him. Try this link and scroll down to the heavyweight division.

I was there. You are right it was an overtime pin, hardly getting dominated.

I would say you would not base it off this performance. The last time madison/disney wrestled I do believe madison won it.If they are only going to take one, they should base it off how they did in high school. Better yet give them both a opportunity one with madison and one with another heavyweight, they both are probably deserving of this event.

If madison offered NO offense how was the score 6-1 before the pin?

Zlatniks moves slipped. Madisson offered up some good defense but really didn't do anything offensive the whole match. I have it on tape if you would like to watch.

I have to agree, Madisson's points were from defense. Zlatnik attacked and got caught in a bad position. I saw moves in both of these two that you normally see in the lighter weights, to see two heavyweights doing them was just amazing. There was definately skill and quickness there in both of them. It would be a shame that Zlatnik gets judged on one match when he has had a fantastic high school career. Shame that Shawnee County schools voted to cancel their tournament. Instead of this discussion we could have been talking about Zlatnik vs Disney.

I was also surprised that the Callahan brothers both lost their matches. Seemed that it was the day for upsets.

Yes that is too bad that the 5 schools voted not to continue the county tourney. Would be nice for Duane to wrestle some kids that will give him a little push. Need it now with only 3 weeks until state.
