Very cool. And, who are the opponents for these young men? I have heard of this "Dapper Dan" but do not know what it is about.

Did Cotton lose about 8-9 matches in his freshman year but then has only lost once or twice since then? Who was the last to beat Cotton in HS and what was the score?

Just curious.

Thanks.

As a Freshman, Cotton went 28-9 and won the State Title at 145 with a 6-5 decision over Thibault from Maize. He then went 31-2 and 31-0 for his 2nd and 3rd Titles.

Thanks Chief!

Did he lose to some Iowa kids/OK kids his junior year or something? I know some KS teams travel out of state for a few tourneys.

Apparently he was beggining to put it all together towards the end of his freshman -- peeking when it counted most.

I think (but may be wrong) that Romero's last loss in high school was to Lance Roe of Norton in the Semis of Newton in 06. It was a fantastic match that went to OT (that may have been the 1st loss of his sophmore season though).

I know this Summer they wrestled a Greco match at Southern Plains. Haynes won!

I don't believe they have ever wrestled a folkstyle match!!

Wow ... absolute "brain fade" and I was even at the event!!

... of note in that tourney, Romero lost two matches both on a referee's judgement!
