Sticking to the Tyler theme, Tyler Downs out of Derby will be tuff as a freshman at 171/189. He was injured in his second match this year at Kids State or he would of been the medals.

Has anyone watch a kid named Scott Deo,this is a fine example of a not so tall wrestler that is tough and can wrestle and win. Scott in my opinion will do very well, I make my son watch him because he has this height thing about wrestling taller kids and Scott is a great example.

A really strong freshman class will be in store for Washburn Rural, Zach Smith, Jason McGuire, Lonnie Morris, Gage Deere, between these guys there was over 125 wins this past season, give them a couple of years and they will make some noise within 6a

"T.J. Lorson will be a solid freshman at 171,189. He's got good mat instinct. His only loss was to somebody from STA who was pretty tough."

i havent seen either kid wrestle, so i cant say for sure at all. but a freshman wrestling at 171 or 189 and having a whole lot of success is extremely rare due to the fact that these weight classes are stacked with older kids who are more experienced and most of all more physically mature and stronger...that doesnt mean they cant be successful, but its a heck of a lot more common for a freshmen to be a force at probably about 135-140 and below.

I found this the other day when I was looking back at 6 and under stuff. I thought it was interesting as this class just completed its senior season.

Richard, good call on "Karl Detmar". He turned out to be pretty good.

Talk about bringing a thread back from the dead. It was intersting reading through all of that though.
