I am helping out with a regional this year agin. I also thought that the finals could not start until 6:30pm per state rules? That hows it has been in the past.

KSHSAA Wrestling Manual (pg. 23)

Classes 4A and 3-2-1 A Time Schedule - Friday & Saturday, Feb. 15-16, 2008

A suggested starting time and schedule for full 15-, 14-man brackets follow. When there are fewer than those numbers in each weight class, the time requirement is greatly reduced. After determining the number of entries, the manager may want to change the tournament starting time on Friday or Saturday. However, the starting time cannot be any earlier than the time indicated in this manual. Friday starting times for all 4A regional tournaments for the first round win be no earlier than 2 p.m. unless approved by the KSHSAA.

Friday weigh-in for Class 4A and 3-2-1A regional tournaments will be done on Friday morning. Schools in these two classes may elect to have either a home site weigh in or have the weigh in at the regional school. (Refer to Section 2.J for reference to home school weigh-in procedure.)

The sample time schedules follow, but will vary some according to number of entries and number of mats used. Depending upon the number of wrestlers, the first four rounds may be completed Friday afternoon and evening. The consolation bracket and championship semifinals will be held during the day on Saturday with the consolation and championship finals Saturday afternoon/evening.

The following time schedule is suggested for full, 15-, & 14-man brackets. Host sites may modify the time schedule once the total number of entries is determined. School team head coaches should be advised of any modifications of time schedules.

SESSION I
Round 1 - First Round - Friday at 2:00 p.m.
Round 2 - Championship Quarterfinals - Friday at 5:00 p.m.
Round 3 - Consolation First Round - Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Round 4 - Championship Semifinals - Friday at 7:30 p.m.
SESSION II
Round 5 - Consolation Cross Bracketing - Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
Round 6 - Consolation Quarterfinal - Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Round 7 - Consolation Semifinal - Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
Round 8 - Consolation Finals (two mats) - Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
Round 9 - Championship Finals (one mat) - Saturday at 6:30 p.m.

When the number of schools or competitors drops to 13 or fewer, regional meet managers are encouraged to adjust the schedule in order to provide a balanced tournament schedule. Any modifications of the time schedule should be announced during preliminary rounds.

Cole Werner 103 is definitely something to look out for from plainville. To my understanding i think he's lost only 3 or 4 times. Solid wrestler!!

Werner beat Bainter from Norton in OT at Ellis dual. He lost to Antillion(1st in 3A state) at Colby Dual Tourney in OT. He also has beat Ceman from P-Burg this year. He is the real deal.

Also consider Schneider from Plainville at 112#. He beat Galloway from Stockton at Russell Tourney earlier this year. Brown at 130# from Plainville has been very impressive also.

If you want to read about what is going on in Beloit, read last Friday's and this Monday's Salina Journal. It doesn't sound good at all.
