I imagine the list will be long - but what the heck. How many can we list that pinned their way through the state tourney? Or, even better, pinned or tech-falled EVERYBODY they wrestled for the whole entire season?

I imagine Cornejo pinned his way through his senior year - with the big one being pinning defending state champ Zouzsa (sp?) in the semis.

OK.

Your turn.

Kyle Lanning from Atwood back in the early 80's was animal I would almost bet he pinned his way through.

Neil Cisper. I know he did it his Senior year, no one lasted through the first period. Not sure about his Junior year though.

Leon Engelbert - Beloit 167lb 1981 - I think they were all 1st period pins at State. Was like 28-0 pinned all but a couple for the season.

Rock Westfahl pinned his way through the state tourney in both his junior and senior years. Little Brother did not go out of the first period in any match in either tourney, except for a second period fall vs. Rienhart of Atwood in his senior final and I think the total time on it was 2:31. That was at 189 in 3A, 1972 and 1973.

Brookes Travis 103 lbs. Ark City 1991 pinned everyone in the first period. I don't know if he did it the following year but he did win state the following year.

David Redding Caney Valley in 1997 headlocked his way to the finals then I believe he either tech falled or pinned his guy in the finals with a headlock.

In 1998 Matt Bradshaw was 6A wrestler of the year (even though national champ Scott Coleman was on the same team!) and he pinned his way to the finals before tech falling his opponent in the finals.
