The HS kids usually dominate when you get up in weight in 14U. Nick Pursel is probably the best I have seen (I am biased) in kids. Reece Conklin is here as well just coming back from a broken leg in football but if he comes back to form he is a freak. I know Tyler Baughman a FR at Lansing is in this range and very tough. Jake Hattabaugh is also in this range after the HS season. My opinion is the HS kids like Baughman and Hattabaugh would have the leg up on the 8th graders, but the two 8th graders I have listed are tough. I am sure there are a ton of others but I will go with Tyler Baughman and Nick Pursel as my homer picks.

Purcell was supposd to be a 9th grader this year but his dad held him back. So at tournaments like Brute Adidas he will be wrestling kids over a year younger than him so I wouldn't be braging on him too much.

Nick is 14 the same age as many 8th graders. It was asked who is good and Nick is good. Sorry if you don't like it.

Nick is a stud, but has been at 150 all year and don't see him making it to 140. The 8th graders at 140 are no slouches to be sure. Sam Son, SEK, Conner Middleton, Paola, Jayson Tansey, Turner, Garret Kahle, Bonner Springs, as well as Reece are all at this weight right now. If they all stay there this sould be a tough Sub to be sure. Once you hit state you have Matt Reed TOHK, Hattabaugh Brawlers, and I am sure some that I haven't seen. Don't count out these guys as I am betting several will place at state this year.

Good luck to all!

Go to the High School link, look at the State championship brackets, the wrestlers name has the grade they are in under the name. If they are in grade 9 they will probably be in 14&under. Dont know if they will make it to Kids State because I never underestimate an 8th grader.

Bainter is wrestling 145 this year and i think Rachow will be at 140. rachow wrestled HS at 130 this year so i doubt he'll go all the way up to 150

Baughman will be real tough. I believe he pinned Conklin last week at Ottawa.

Don't think it was a pin. Think it was points.

deeohh..do you really think these eight graders have any kind of edge on the freshman. Im not taking any thing from the eight grade wrestlers but they do not.
