Kansas Wrestling Forums General Discussion High School Colorado State Final

Did anybody catch them, they were on direc tv. Last night! All class's were together,I don't like that! They jump around showcasing there best weights!

Worst coverage I have ever seen of a wrestling event! They would skip entire portions of matches where vital scoring occurred and suddenly the match would be over. They never showed the clock, and as you said jumped all over the place. Their announcers misexplained match scoring and overtime procedures, and at times didn't even seem to be watching the matches they were commenting on. At one point, they commented "You may be hearing quite a reaction from the crowd as Tyler Graff has ended his career as a 4 time state champ and is given a standing ovation from the crowd". Graff is incredible, one of the best wrestlers in the nation, and a D1 (Wisconsin I believe)recruit, but they were too busy showing edited matches to put him on the broadcast...unbeliveable!!

I did not get to watch the broadcast and it sounds pretty poor, but at least they have it on. I have lived and coached all over the midwest and each state is different on how they do their state tournament. Everyone has their own ideas on how things should be ran and how many classifications there should be and I definitely do not know the answer. I do like it when the tournaments are held in one venue though. It is nice to bring all the best to one site. There are pros and cons to everything and as we all know, not everyone will be happy. I like how Nebraska shows their finals matches. They put all four matches on the screen, seperated into four sections. I can be a little confusing, but after seeing it the first time at least all the matches are televised.
