We will not be able to utilize any kind of satellite weigh-ins or written documentation for kids that are weighing in at a sub-district location. All wrestlers will HAVE to weigh-in during the designated weigh-in times. I apologize for all the mix-up.

WHY NOT! I was hoping that my son (5 years old) would not have to weight in twice. I even drafted a form for the sub-district director to sign.

Your five year old should be able to make weight as he steps onto the mat to wrestle. Please tell me you are not making an issue about his weight. He's FIVE! If not then it shouldn't matter if he has to be weighed in again on Sunday.

Some of you people need to take a chill pill. Weight is not an issue with him. He weight's consistantly 41.6-42.5 and he wrestles @ 43. He is not on any special diet other than a kid diet. That is basically a seefood diet if you now what I mean. But why weigh in twice, if they haven't had to before. He would like to snack and drink all day and not worry about being .1-.2 over. Not saying he will be even close. So some of you weight-watching NAZI's need to take a egg sized chill pill. This sport is not the end of the world thing. At least not in our family. We enjoy it tremendously, but would NEVER jeopardize our child's health because of it.

I agree with NewWrestlingDad. It seems that everyone has to be careful about what they post or they run the risk of being turned into SRS for child abuse because of weight cutting or excessive wrestling. Why does every post turn into a weight cutting issue at some point?
The second weigh-in produces potential travel-time issues for some people more than anything, regardless of whether you are attending Subs then Ottawa, or Topeka then Districts. I think that is 99% of the reason for the many posts about the weigh-in counting for both tournaments.....not because of a weight issue.

Then since kids will be wrestling on consecutive days at a "sanctioned" tourny they should be given a 1 pound allowance. Since the kids rule book does not address this issue please refer to the high school which is where you will find that.
It is not Ottawa people that are being the bad guys on this issue. It is the district directors and their confernece call that decided the "make them make weight there". Why is the district directors getting involved in an age group that doesnt exist, according to the state? The weigh-ins and what is and what notis allowed, should be up to the "tourny" director not the State district directors. Once again the State is telling the age group that doesny count in the state what they can and cant do at tourny that is only 6u.
Ottawa stick to your guns, it is your tourny you allow what you want.

i would agree schroeder, but if the people at sub districts won't sign forms for kids going to ottawa for there weight there is nothing ottawa can do, and as for the 1 pound diffrence you are right, but ottawa is not a sanctioned tournamnet so they would not be wrestling two consecutive sanctioned tournaments in 2 days only one. or is ottawa a sanctioned tournament?

yes they are sanctioned. they paid a sanctioning fee for the tourny. I have never had a problem in the past 2 yrs about having tourny directors sign a form. I am in D2, so I dont know which district is having the problems.

i am guessing that the problem lies with D1. They are the biggest against 6u's but rest assured D1 will have the most kids in the tourny.

NewWrestlingDad you need to "take a chill pill" and read your own post! You have contradicted yourself inside one post. I was simply stating my opinion. And I would like to thank you for proving my point in your post. Also, I find your reference to the Germans tasteless and offensive, as well as completely irrelavant. Good Luck at the tournament. We always had a good time there. If you would like to converse with me further plese PM or email. MY contact info is listed below.

Is this not your own words???
And for future reference, when someone post a personal message it meant to be "personal." I was trying to protect you from your own ingorance. But,I guess i have failed. I should have explained that to you.
