if you don't seed and let it be a random draw, your 2 best wrestlers could end up in the first match together. Seeding puts the #1 and #2 wrestlers as far apart as possible. The track wrestling will randomly add the byes into the bracket, along with any unseeded wrestlers. If a #1 seed gets a bye now it's just the luck of the draw, unless all wrestlers are seeded and there is one bye it will go to the #1 wrestler. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
