Former Salina South standout Nick Nothern earned All-America status by finishing in 6th place this past weekend at DIII Nationals in Iowa. Nick competes for Cornell College and helped the Rams finish 7th; their highest finish in DIII and their highest finish at nationals in 45 years.

Got a chance to see Nick win his quarterfinal match in overtime against his Augsburg opponent. If you have never seen D3 wrestling you are missing out on some of the truest forms of student athletes.

Congratulations Nick,I assume your expectations were higher than that, I know mine for you were.I have no doubt you will use this as motivation to stand at the top of the podium next year.I am in no way am trying to cheapen your AA status finishing 6th,but I know you're capable of more.It's been a pleasure to watch you wrestle and look forward to seeing you get what you"deserve"in the future.National Champ
