... NHSCA Senior Nationals!

Team Kansas is present and accounted for. Hopefully this year we will crown several All-Americans and perhaps have a couple contend for a National Championship!

We have 28 seniors that are going to display their skills. They are among the 880 seniors in this tourney! In this tourney, there are several 4-time State Champs and 3-time Champs are plentiful!!

Personally, my wife who is accompanying me, and I arose at 2 am in preparation for the 6:10 am departure from KCI. So, needless to say, I'm a bit numb (yes, Barry, more so than usual) from a lack of sleep!

We've had a coaches meeting at 6 am edt, and in 10 minutes have a meeting with the athletes!

So ... this is my first report! Hopefully, several follow!

Randy you are still in charge of mat patrol this weekend at state.

We will make sure to stay online and give plenty of updates this weekend at our tournament, thanks for your hard work and great updates.

Yes, to the best of my knowledge, they are! I guess some wrestlers are using the Brute-Adidas Nationals as a substitute. That is understandable but the competition level in the NSHCA Nationals, in most cases, is superior!!

I went over to the venue last night and spoke with Todd Napier and a couple of members of the family. What great ambassadors for the sport!!

I'm off to breakfast and we have a practice session at 9 am!

More later!!!

Does anyone have a link for the site that is posting results? I didn't see brackets on the NHSCA site, but maybe I missed them. Thx.

Randy,

Besides the Brute Adidas tournament, some of the high school wrestlers are also participating in the Kansas Kids wrestling tournament series. The Kids State tournament is this weekend.

Dang, makes me wish I was still stationed in VA. I lived about 9 blocks from where it's being held this year!

Is he wrestling Kyle West? He is ranked #2 in California. A very tough match coming up!

The Seniors weigh-in at 2 pm (edt) and then they get the chance to rehydrate and get a bit of nourishment!

I just returned from a walk on the Boardwalk (actually concrete) and the Chamber of Commerce really improved the scenery! Perhaps it is the weatherman that has more to do with that!! The beach is fairly active this year as compared to the barrenness last year. It's in the 70's here today and a nice Easterly breeze.

The military jets are flying overhead and I do enjoy them! I really don't know whether they are F-15's, F-16's or B4's ... but seeing them fly gives me the goosebumps!

I did see C.J.'s win this morning ... he looked impressive in the beginning but started to fade. His opponent tied it at 5's late in the third but with 3 seconds to go C.J. earned the escape!

More later!

Sounds like the shoes were tight but offense was hard to find, CJ comes up short 0-3 to West from CA…

I can not find where there is a link to the weight brackets in the Nationals Websit..so when they post the Seniors Bracket, please put the link on here. I am watching for updates, I am glad someone is right there reporting things as they happen. Thanks for keeping us informed of the matches coming up and the results as they happen. Good Job.
