I'd put my money on John Smith. That guy was good. What am I saying? ... he's still good.

Zach Roberson had 4 HS and several Kids - I thought 7-10 kids.
Outstanding collegiate career (several AA's and 1 NCAA National title) and still competing internationally.

Daniel DeShazer has nine kids and one high school with two kids and three high school to go. That would put him at 15!!!

I thought Maynes had 12 from kids. That would put him at 16. I think it was Justin Ware before that had the record. I am not 100% sure on this though.

I think Justin Ware had 9 Kid Titles, getting 2nd his first year of 8U, and 4 High School Titles. I think Maynes had 11 Kid Titles, one as a 6U in the 8U and then 10 at the respective ages, and 4 High School Titles. Richard, would you like to chime in on this?

how many bo maynes are there. I was looking at 1992 results and his name is in 3 different ages and weights as a state champion. did he wrestle all those or is that a typo.

ok now in your opinion what was the strongest team ever in kansas. i know there were many but think real hard. i know it will be hard because you have to look back to all the state power house teams like emporia, ark city, kaupan. im not real familiar with the smaller schools before my era so i will leave them out. so lets hear it.

I only won Kids 4 times...started in the 7th grade.

I like Ark City 1990 or 1991, but I'm partial.

Partial or not, it would be hard to argue with you, Chad. That 90 team was LOADED! Could you list the team by weight and state places. I know a lot of it, but not all of them. I think it will be hard to find another team that compiled as many individual titles. Goodale, Ware, Beeson, Hernandez (x2), Calder, and those I can't think of were tougher than nails.

Norton had a pretty dominating performance in 2006 winning 1,2,3a by a margin of 70 points. I did not go back very far and look at all the team scores.

ok so now where does this years bishop carroll team fit in. whats the highest national ranking any team from kansas has had. i work with a guy from emporia and he says back in the early to mid 80's emporia was nationally ranked. i remember watching them when i was in gradeschool but dont remember just how good they were. glad there is such an interest in all this. its kinda glad that I can actually be a civilized person and not rant and rave about the 6 and unders. so its a good change of topic. thank you guys for giving your input in all this. i have a passion for wrestling and it grows everytime i am on here. I just hope my son continues to enjoy the sport like I did and he is already got more than what I ever had growing up in the sport. I came from a family that really didnt come and watch me and I just want to be there for all my kids.

while we are on this subject. i just heard that bobby lashley has been cut loose by the wwe and is looking at getting into mma. I dont really remember ever seeing this guy wrestle and dont know how old he is. He must have been wrestling when I was away from the sport for a while during college. How good was he. I know he is a big boy now. Wait until they match him up with Brock Lezner. You know thats destined to happen sooner or later if they both find success in it. I was really impressed with Lezner even though he lost to Mir but give him a couple years and I really think he can be good. Lashley I think could be the same.
