Last year Mill Valley had 700 kids signed up to wrestle.
This year Mill Valley had approximately 670 kids signed up to wrestle. We also had approximately 100 scratches.
We did have 1 mat run a little longer than all of the others, but couldnt move matches due to rest time. This was bad planning on my part and I apologize. Most of the matches were finishing between 3:45 and 4:15 I think(I lost my watch to a timekeeper sometime during the day as a bloodtime keeper). The longest mat was completed around 5:00.
Thanks to the help of a lot of our club members families as well as friends from very helpful clubs we were finished cleaning and completely out of the school at 6:00 P.M.
Mats were then returned to Desoto High School and Cokeleys Sport Building so I could then head home to start posting results, which I also feel are as much a part of the tournament as the wrestling itself. Finally home a little after 9:00 P.M.
I will admit I picked up my 3 year old son when he got home and held him as we took a 2 hour nap. Tucked him into bed and started sorting through the mess to get the results posted.
