I have just moved to Wichita from Tulsa and am actually looking for a team for my son to practice and compete with. We would like to continue some folk style and start up with freestyle. Right now my wife and son are in Tulsa through the week and coming up on weekends. I know that I want him to work out with Terry and Trent Cox later on. Right now Nathan is 12, November Birthday and right at 64,65 pounds, Oklahoma State Champion and several time national placer at TN and winner of Gator and other nationals. Any info regarding getting used to this new state USA and all would be nice. email at mike@furches.org

Thats kind of a hard question to answer, becuase you must consider that teams from bigger cities will have many many more wrestlers than smaller towns. Like Manhattan seems like they have 80 kids or more, while chapman has like 10. So it is kinda hard to say who is the best based on talent as opposed to numbers.

Dear Century Kansas - My comment about East Kansas wasn't intended as a slam. If you would take a momement to consider what I said I complemented your club by saying East Kansas was always tough in the summer. I honestly didn't know that they had little kids wrestling. I went back and reviewed the State results for last year. East Kansas had no one in 8 and under place. East Kansas had one 5th place finish in 10 and under. At 12 & under East Kansas had 3 placers (one first) and at 14 and under 2 placers (no first). Net result up through 14 & under = 6 State placers 1 first, 2 second, 0 third, 2 fourth and 1 fifth. Not exactly dominating the lower age group was it? Now at 15/16 East Kansas did have 6 placers with 2 first and 2 seconds. Good job. But this proves my point. Unless you have a kid wrestling in the upper age group you wouldn't see much out of East Kansas. I am not knocking your club or Kevin Klemm who is one of the finest coaches in Kansas. But you took a legitimate question I had (does East Kansas have a youth program) and called it silly. When most of your wrestlers can drive to the meet I wouldn't exactly call it a "youth program"

It sortof sounded like a slam, egg in your face. You know, as a former "post person" i realize that the computer does not show the voice dialects as a person does. Careful what you post and make sure there is alot of icing on it before you submit it,or expect alot of unwanted replies from people like myself that does not understand what you ARE trying to say.

Every year it is between WWC & TONK with Salina third and Valley Center & Manhattan hanging around.

Last year Valley Center & Maize took the top two spots with Salina third followed by WWC, TONK & Manhattan.

Usually the top ten teams are the same just moving around.

It will be intereasting if TONK & WWC can get back on top or if someone else will take over.

THE TEAM TO WATCH THIS YEAR IS MAIZE. THEY WILL PROBABLY HAVE 10-12 KIDS IN THE FINALS WITH 6-8 OF THOSE IN THE 12&U DIVISION.
