i was wondering if they are going to wrestle all the way to the finals on friday, and what everybody else thinks about that. i think that we should wrestle all the way to the finals, because it gives them kids a break all day which is really nice, and when i have wrestled through the back door the whole time it helped me to wrestle the whole time back to back matches i sort of got on a roll.

Is everyone going to wrestle one backside match this year?

It would be easier if everyone knew that they will wrestle 3 on the front side and 1 on the back side.

Instead of some people wrestling their backside match and some sitting all day waiting to be told late in the afternoon that they will be the first match in the morning.

Parents could plan better if they knew they had to stay or go.
Plus they would quit bothering the Directors all day, asking "when is the last match"?
Everyone would know going into the Tournament when they will be done.

I see both of these names on this topic so what weight are Grater and Terrel going to be at, and have they ever wrestled each other?

Jeremy Terrell & Danny Grater have never wrestled that I remeber?
They have been in the same brackets before but have never met.
Sometimes Danny would finish ahead and sometimes Jeremy finished ahead.
This year at H.S. State was the same way Terrell 4th & Grater 6th.
Terrell is a sophmore & Grater a freshman so maybe next year?

I have no problem with the top side wrestling three matches on the first day, but everyone should wrestle at least two matches on the first day. It is fine for the winners of the first round to wrestle their second match before the losers of the first round wrestle their second match. However I do not think it is fair for the winners of their first two matches to wrestle their third match before the losers of the first round wrestle their second match. That is too harsh of a penalty for losing in your first round.

That happened to my son last year and he had to come back the next day and wrestle his second match early in the morning on the second day. He lost his second match too. It was a very frustrating experience.There were several other people who had this happened to them last year, and they all were very upset with it. I hope no one has to go thru the same scenario at this year's state tournament.
