Blake-
Where do we draw the line for our student athletes (you ask)? I don't know the answer to what you might be searching for. I do know that I have remained consistent about negative comments towards outside issues concerning the young men that I respect. The other young man that you referenced I said that he should deserve a second chance. It's not our place to Judge a 1 time bad mark and skip his total body of GREAT accomplishments. I do believe the process is Judging and if you have any faith in a GOD than let that also be a Judge. Have a Good Day!!!

Jason - I wouldnt have commented on this except I felt it was odd instead of commenting on the thread in question, you made a seperate thread with Blake Arnberger as the title.
I think he was just asking where do you draw the line to decide whether it should be made public on this website. (I beleive his "other" was in reference to the young lady's situation and not the other young man you may be referencing to from a prior time.)
I know Blake personally and I dont beleive he was playing God and judging, I know his faith and am sure he is comfortable with it.
I am in hopes there are other circumstances in this instance and that everything works out for those involved. But I also feel that when someone gets alot of publicity for their ability and is put on a pedistal (so to speak), it's definetly going to be news if they fall off! In addition, both of the latest individuals in question are adults, not youth or even highschool students. I think that has to be taken into account as well. When Eric Luedke shot the racoon up in Iowa and was charged, it made this website. How did you feel about that? Should it have been removed?
I do agree, its a tough decision, but it shouldnt only be about issues concerning young men that you respect personally, but as a set standard for ALL on the wrestling posts/website.
I doubt that friends or family of the wrestlers from NU would be excited about seeing the post on the college forum about them either, but its on there and noone is saying it should be removed, which would seem to be a little hypocrytical actually. And No, I dont know how or what you set as the guideline but it should be across the board and not just for our top "local" athletes but for teams, parents, supporters, etc.. as well if there is going to be a standard set.

Mr. Moeder excellent post. could not agree more. It seems
people tend to loose perspective when someone close to them
comes under some perceived threat. The same comments made about
someone they don't know will not elicit a response and they
probably will follow the news along with the rest of us. There
is a reason people read newspapers, watch local news programs,
and talk about current events. It seems to me certain individuals on this forum believe their acquaintances should be off Limits.
Even when only factual statements that were printed in
a newspaper were posted.

I do understand the feelings of people not wanting to have
their friends go threw tough times. But they should not confuse
honest discussions and fact sharing as an attack!!! In fact I
can't think of a place this young man would get more support
and understanding then on this Forum.

Many parallels can be drawn with that thread and the one about the money being stolen from the Olathe club. Before the thread was deleted I was following along with the posts and came across
one from someone who was obviously not happy with the topic
being discussed. He accused "a select few of taking pot shots"
Well I thought I had missed something and reread all the previous
posts. All I found was a link to a news report and a copy of
a newspaper article. Pot shots ?? Again people close to a situation tend to loose perspective. I can see good things coming from the discussions about club finances. Unfortunately not much good can come from the situation we are now dancing around. The sharing of facts
and the discussion of topics related to wrestling are what this talk Forum is for.

Tim- I made a separate thread because the one and only comment that I made on the original thread was intentionally my last.

Concerning Blake, again my separate thread was intentional to avoid the original thread. Not so much to call Blake out. I also made a separate thread for the other person that I responded to.

Blake- If for any reason that my comments were interpreted as disrespect towards you in any way than I will apologize on this forum. "I'm sorry". I also have no problem apologizing in person next time we meet.

I did interpret the "other" comment as a young man. So that is my fault and I have no idea what young lady you’re talking about.

I stand firm about my stance concerning youth wrestlers or situations that happen in peoples personal lives. If this happened in a wrestling gym my stance would be different. What happens in my house should stay in my house. Maybe a public newspaper forum would be appropriate but not a youth wrestling forum.

I consider myself close to the family involved. I have also stood beside many other kids to help them thru situations that I was not so tight with the family.

My main point is topics are appropriate on one website is often not appropriate on another. Screen names should almost always be used on some websites and almost never used on others. I felt that the original post that I responded too was not appropriate on this website.

It was removed and I have no power to remove a post. I did post strongly what I had hoped the Kansas Wrestling community would do. If it was my own son or any Kansas Wrestler in the same situation I would still fell the same way!!!!

A good friend of mine once said, (paraphrasing) "What happens on your side of town is no different than what happens on my side of town". This is true and reporting it should be the difference from where it is read.

Again, Have a Good Day! I try to stay positive!

May we all strive to stay in 1/2 as good a shape as we direct our youth wrestlers to be! Stay off the forum so much and get some road work in! Maybe that built up tension to bash people so quickly will be vented in a nice 5-10 mile run. That was directed to nobody specifically so if it hit to close to home that’s not my fault.

-Jason McComb
Ps. If you reply and bash me on a personal message then I can receive it quickly on my PDA. Then you can get the same satisfaction but avoid public comment by both. I’m happy and I hope you are to. Just keep the negative stuff that is away from wrestling in other places.
