Congrats to Eric Akin,

Absolutely outstanding that Baker chose one of the best wrestlers and coaches in the nation. I am grateful for what Eric has tought my sons (Nick and Sean) and myself. Eric will be a great addition to the newest wrestling program in Kansas.

Hopefully, Eric will continue to make things happen in East Kanssas in the summer. I know my boys will enjoy banging heads at St. James, Leavenworth, Baker or somewhere with Eric over next summer.

I was talking to Coach May a couple of days ago and totally agree, hiring Eric on is a T-E-R-R-I-F-I-C move. Baker will make tremendous strides, F-A-S-T!

Congrats to you Eric ! ....I am liking this Coach May already as it speaks volumes in that he is secure in his self in hiring a KS wrestling legend to help him get the ball rolling as he is not afraid of having someone steal his thunder as some may be, but a wise man in that it will certainly help in recruiting and building a larger fan base. Eric has a great enthusiasm for the sport and teaching it to youth and molding them into champions and is a fantastic addition. Baker will definitely be a force to be reckoned with within a few short years of them (May & Akin) putting their stamp on the program.

Thanks also to Coach Kit Harris and his father A.D. Harris and Baker University for their commitment to KS wrestling !!

Actually I was never offered a contract to be an assistant coach at Baker and was never hired as one. Just rumors.

Good luck to Coach May and Coach Fergola. They have some good things going and have a great group of new kids. I hope they git 'r done.

I will be co-head coach of East Kansas Wrestling Club again. Along with the two of the best coaches in the state. . .Travis Phippen and Zach Roberson.
