East Kansas Wrestling Club Pre-season for kid wrestlers

For wrestlers beyond the “beginner” level” 8th grade and younger.

Starting: Sept. 22

Ending: Nov. 13

Mondays: 6:30pm - 8:00pm

Location: St. James Academy

Cost: $100

USAW Card required, available at sessions for additional $30.

Coach: Travis Phippen Turner Kid Club Head Wrestling Coach, 2x NCAA all-American, San Fran State.

Program includes gear and East Kansas League Night membership on Wednesdays.

do you think that there will be any kids around the 45 to 55 pound range attending these sessions? mike pirl

I would think Cody Phippen would be there and he is that weight and tough.

Cody is 9 and weighs about 52lbs also he usually gets a group in there that are pretty tough scrappers.

For those who don't know Travis is an excellent coach and runs a very intense practice and builds a very tough group of kids. My son really looks up to Travis and respects him as a coach. And this would be an excellent opportunity to get a head start on the competition for the season.

I totally agree. Travis is a great coach. . . at all levels. He helped me tremendously in my last few years of international competition and in my short mma career; training with me, coaching me through workouts, etc.

The kids love him, and he's a true Kansas work-horse!

"brief" Come on Eric, I wanted to see the rematch between you and the Swayz, you can't go out getting body slammed like that.

A shame this is only on Mondays as many kids who play youth football have practice on Monday evenings. Would like to get my 12 year old there, but would creat a conflict.

We are still having some great intense practices on Monday. If anyone wants to join we are still signing up. Many will be going to the Tulsa Kickoff Classic nothing like some pre-season practice for a great pre-season tournament.

Travis are you going to be doing something on Monday nights all season?

I believe it is held at St. James in the KC Metro area!

St. James is located at 24505 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, KS. It is just west of K-7 on 95th Street. You will see it on your right after you pass the new fire department building.
